Quickly retracting her warm hand, Xavia grumbled, “You’re the most shameless person I’ve ever met!”
“Aww, thank you, Honey,” replied Zivon with a grin, leaving Xavia utterly speechless…
When she was finally able to cool off, Xavia sighed before heading over to the gift store next door… Upon noticing that Mark was still browsing through the items, she was prompted to ask, “Still looking?”
Turning to look at her, Mark replied, “Well, she is the Great Lady, so she probably already has everything that she wants. Adding that to the fact that she’s your mother, I’m thinking of getting her something extra special… Truth be told, I’m thinking of making her a lavish gown. Sure, it’ll take a while, but I think I can manage. What do you think?”
“Come to think of it, I remember Mom praising your designs a while back… You know what? I think your idea is perfect for her!”
Nodding in response, Mark replied, “Guess I’ll head back to get started, then. Since Zivon is here, I’m sure he’ll take good care of you.”
“Thanks for being so attentive, Mark. If you ever need any help with it, feel free to ask, alright?” said Xavia, prompting Mark to nod before walking off…
As a child, Xavia would always envy girls who received endless gifts and flowers. However, now that she was all grown up, she realized that gifts from the heart would always be better… and Mark, for one, always put his heart into everything that he did.
Her train of thought was cut short when she heard Zivon ask, “…How long do you intend to stare? Or would you like to follow him, hmm…?”
Shaking her head, Xavia replied, “I-I was just thinking about how kind his gesture was! Regardless, this is my first birthday with Mom, so I want to make my gift count… As he said, however, she can probably already get anything that she wants…”
Upon hearing that, Zivon felt slightly troubled as well. Usually, he’d just get something extremely expensive for those who deserved gifts from him… But this was Xavia’s mother they were talking about. He couldn’t just use money to solve this issue… What’s more, it wasn’t like he had access to money right now either!
