Not even bothering to look back at him, Xavia replied, “No, I’m the wrong one. I should’ve never married you, nor should I have fallen for you. After all, we are two vastly different people. You must secretly look down on me because I grew up in the countryside, huh? A vulgar bumpkin. Then again, I should’ve expected this much from the start. Thank you for opening my eyes again, Zivon.”
Her words felt like daggers aimed straight at his heart, and after wincing a little, Zivon said, “…Xav, stop.”
Smiling bitterly at him, Xavia replied, “Though the happiest women have loving husbands, they become the most miserable ones once those caring men hurt them. Your distrust in me makes me feel extremely pathetic, Von… And it doesn’t help that you nearly died from your doubts about me. Am I supposed to just let that fact slide? The last thing I want is for you to die because of me.”
“Anyway, no need to apologize to me. Apologize to yourself instead for falling for such a filthy woman like me. Now if you excuse me, I’ll be taking my leave. Rest well. I’ll be heading back to take care of the kids.”
Watching as she got up, Zivon’s immediate reaction was to pull her back… but since there was an IV drip attached to his wrist and his legs were the way they were, all he could do was watch her leave… It was then that he learned the harsh reality that with his legs like this, he couldn’t even chase after his beloved woman…
Zivon remained hospitalized for the next three days, and during that time, Xavia never even considered visiting him. It irked him so much that he attempted to get discharged early on multiple occasions, but thankfully, Nathan managed to talk him out of it every time…
Even so, her absence made him feel extremely lonely, and since he finally had more time to dwell on his thoughts, he finally realized just how extreme his views had been. It was probably best to just let her go… But the very thought of that killed him inside. He… He couldn’t lose her…! Since that was the case, he may as well try his best to keep her by his side!
With that in mind, he waited till he had been discharged before sending a message to the group chat that had him, Zayne, and Chace in it…
