“Is the surgery over yet?”

“Just over. Elsie’s out of danger. The doctors are wheeling her into the ward. I arranged for her to be put in a room on your floor. She’ll be two rooms away. I’ll be over in a moment. Don’t panic. Take the kids and wait for me.”

“What about Wilson? What’s his condition?”
