President's Genius Son novel Chapter 16

“Miss. Walker, I’m sorry to tell you that it might take another 40 minutes to get to the Moore’s villa because of the traffic jam.” The driver said in a calm and polite tone.

Hedy said, “Alright.”

She looked out of the window, thinking with emotion.

If Victor didn’t send a driver there and picked her up, Kelly must keep laughing at her. But now, she must be irritated! Imagining her angry face, Hedy felt somewhat relived.

The best way to give a blow to a woman with great vanity was to show off the wealth which she could never have.

With the help of Victor, she won this battle. But after that, she felt a little hopeless to control her and her son’s fate.

Victor was so rich and powerful, which made it less possible for her to win in the lawsuit to get custody of Leo.

The car drove away from the hustle and bustle of the city and to a broad and quiet road. It seemed that the road was designed for Victor’s villa only. The car was moving ahead at a fast speed and the view outside was going backwards. Afterwhile, they arrived at a castle-like villa.

The driver got off the car at once and opened the door for Hedy, saying politely, “Miss. Walker, here we are. This way, please.”

“Thank you.”

The villa was grand and splendid. She came here once, so she could find the way to the dining room by herself. Thinking of which floor she might go to, the butler appeared and reminded her, “Miss. Walker, Mr. Moore and Master Leo were in the children’s room on the third floor.”

Hedy was a little surprised that a children’s room for Leo was ready in such a short time.

While she was standing in front of the room, she saw the decoration inside: wow, it’s totally a children’s playground in medium size. She saw Victor and Leo playing Lego.

The light of sunset shone on them, which made them a wonderful work of art.

It was a scene that Hedy always dreamt of at her early age: She would have a loving husband and a lovely son or daughter, and they lived a happy life.

It was a pity that the scene was just her imagination, not reality.

Hedy stopped being that emotional and wanted to speak to them, but Victor put his finger on his lips, stopping her words.

Oh, the little boy was sleeping leaning on him.

That moment Hedy felt a little jealous because her son built up such a close relationship with him in such a short time. Leo showed him the trust and fell asleep in his embrace like they were well acquainted before.

Hedy wanted to hold the boy in her arms. Though Leo was just 4 years old, he was over 1.2 meters tall, which was outstanding at his age. And because he fell asleep, Hedy tried to hold him but failed. He grumbled, “Mummy” but didn’t wake up.

Seemingly he was really tired.

Victor concerned that she would throw his son to the ground so he held Leo back and went out of the room.

Hedy was anxious. Why did he do that? Did he try to take her son away from her?

She followed him and didn’t choose to get Leo back again in case that would wake Leo up. She kept quiet and just followed his steps.

She was shocked again when she came in the room for Leo.

Was it the “Kids’ Paradise” in a TV programme that Leo kept obsessed with?

He was really rich.

He spent a short time on the decoration of the room. And everything in this room were in high quality, which cost a great deal of money.

Victor put his son on the bed. He was unhappy because Hedy only stood there and did nothing to his son.

Being stared by Victor, she woke up from her fancy and walked to the bed, helping Leo take off his shoes and covered him with the comforter to keep warm.

She seemed so tender and mild when she was looking after Leo.

That surprised Victor.
