Joseph had never thought of looking for a lifelong partner before he met Hayden.
In his eyes, he always thought that raising a dog was much more reliable than getting married. He didn’t feel lonely, but instead, he enjoyed being alone. There was once he thought that Noah Beckham had messed up his life. But he never thought of meeting Hayden again one day.
Her appearance was different from Noah’s. Joseph was resisting Noah initially, but to Hayden, he was willing for it.
The sound of the door shut echoed in the silent room. The sound was low and didn’t affect the sleeping environment in the bedroom.
Magnus James had been waiting at the entrance for a while, “Mr. Beckham.”
“Mmm.” Joseph nodded in response and instructed him, “There were many rumours in the hotel for the past two days. You deal with it. I don’t want to hear any about these rumours again.”
When it came to this matter, he felt impatient about it. Everyone in the hotel thought that Hayden had a husband, but she never explained anything about her. It was left for him to clear all her mess.
“I’ll handle it by tomorrow morning,” Magnus promised. “By the way, regarding the matter about Caesar that you asked me before, it’s taking shape. Caesar’s neighbour said that there was a teenager who went to Caesar’s house before the fire.”
Joseph halted his steps, frowning, “A teenager?”
“According to witnesses, the teenager is not quite about twenty, looks comely, and seems to be a college student. He was traveling to GX Town, and he lived in Caesar’s house before. He went back again after half a month, and that was the night when Caesar had the accident. This is the photo.”
Magnus took a photo out of the Kraft paper bag and gave it to Joseph.
“It’s a photomontage made on the spot according to the descriptions given by the neighbours. The look of the teenager won’t differ much.”
Joseph was pinching the edge of the photo and felt familiar looking at the teenager in it.
As he was thinking, some footstep sounds were coming from a distance. A long shadow was formed under the light of the corridor, and a teenager’s deep voice sounded, “You guys are here too?”
Joseph raised his head as he stuffed the photo back into the kraft paper bag. He frowned as he saw Benjamin, “Why are you here?”
Benjamin was in a white casual outfit, looking energetic. “I’m here for Ms. Downey. I remembered some places in the past two days, and it might be related to my memories. I’m planning to go on with her.”
“She is asleep. She is swamped with work on these two days. I’m afraid she won’t have the time.” Joseph looked at Benjamin, feeling alarmed. He said in a low voice after a pause, “You can come to my assistant if you remember anything.”
Benjamin crossed his arms, glancing at Joseph faintly, “This is something between Hayden and me. So I won’t bother you guys then.”
Joseph’s face changed as he looked at Benjamin coldly.
Not many people had dared to call his bluff. This wasn’t the first time Joseph felt that Benjamin seemed to have great animosity towards himself.
“The ST Group has taken the responsibility of you getting hit. Since you were discharged from the hospital, this is not the matter between you and Hayden anymore.” Joseph stared at Benjamin with an oppressive gaze as he emphasized, “It’s between you and me.”
