After Hayden got the check of twenty million, she hurriedly went back to Lanxi Town and didn’t waste any time.
It was midnight when she arrived. She even didn’t sleep all day and night. To keep herself awake, she had drunk many cups of coffee on the way.
As Rebekah saw the check, she finally breathed a sigh of relief, “Thanks, Hayden.”
“Never mind.”
Hayden smiled. She didn’t tell Rebekah about the plan to impawn the necklace, because she didn’t want Rebekah to worry about more.
“I decide to send Benjamin to study abroad after this. I’m also gonna take a trip. Zed will never find me again.”
“Don’t worry. Demon like him will be punished sooner or later.”
“Maybe he will.”
Rebekah checked the watch and said to Hayden, “It’s late. Have a rest first. I’ve prepared a room for you. Thanks again, Hayden.”
“I’m not sleepy.”
After Hayden said this, she yawned. It was embarrassing.
“Well, you’ve helped me a lot. There is nothing important, so just have a rest.” Rebekah patted Hayden’s hand and smiled gently, “Joseph is so lucky to meet a kind girl like you.”
Hayden blushed as she heard this.
It was actually the approval of her future mother-in-law.
Hayden didn’t say anything. She went upstairs and went to bed soon.
Then the knock sounded, and it was Rebekah’s soft voice, “Hayden? Are you still up?”
“Yeah, I didn’t lock the door. Please come in.”
Rebekah came in with a bowl in her hand, “It’s cold here. I made the mutton soup for you to warm yourself. It’s my secret recipe. Have a taste.”
“It smells delicious.” Hayden hurriedly got up.
“Just stay on the bed.” Rebekah put the bowl on the desk by Hayden’s bed, and then sat down on the bed.
She even took the bowl to Hayden.
“It’s chilly. Just stay here and drink it.”
Hayden felt warm as she looked at Rebekah. Rebekah was beautiful, kind, generous, gentle, and even mature and pure. Almost all the best words could be used to describe her. No wonder Benjamin said he wanted to find a wife as good as his mother.
“Mrs. Beckham, it will be better if there is no misunderstanding between you and Joseph.”
Hayden said cautiously, because she was afraid of scaring Rebekah, “Joseph always feels sad when he thinks that he had no mother. He complains, but he is also thirsty of love from you.”
Hearing this, Rebekah was guilty. She said, “I know he’s a good boy.”
However, there was always something for everyone that they couldn’t do at wills. Everyone had his or her own scruples and troubles.
“What if you tell the truth to Joseph? I think he will understand you.”
“No.” Rebekah refused firmly. Such a decision was like being rooted in her mind, and it would never be shaken.
“Why? Are you afraid of others’ comments? That’s OK. You can just tell this to Joseph alone. No one will know it except him.”
“But how can he accept the truth that the father he has been respecting for years is not his real father?”
Rebekah smiled bitterly. She tried to explain calmly, “He didn’t get close to me when he was young, so I’m not so important in his world, but his father is. Besides, he will feel hard to live in the Beckham family once he knows the truth.
