Hearing Alex's low and hoarse voice only deepened the blush on Jane's face. She knew distinctly that Alex was flirting with her, and though she did not feel the same, she felt nothing but a sense of security.

She had been with Alex for seven years, and she had always known that he had a good temper. If not for Alex breaking her heart overnight, Jane would have still considered him as someone with a great personality. The reason why she had completely given up on Alex was partly because of the fact that he chased her out of his house out of the blue, but there was more to it that she had never mentioned or told anyone; it was because she felt pained by the love Alex had for Lily. Seven, almost eight years of companionship, through riches and difficulties, they ate and lived together, day and night, but none of that compared to a woman from across the world.
