After the evening self-study session was over, Sophie Tanner waited until the other students had left before getting on her bicycle. She walked into a quiet alley to go home. It may be deserted, but she can shorten her journey by more than ten minutes.
Before she could cycle out of the alley, she smelled blood with her keen nose.
Sophie was quite accustomed to the smell of blood. Other girls would have run away from the scene if they were in her shoes.
However, Sophie is not an ordinary young woman. She continued to ride her bike as if nothing had happened.
Sure enough, five minutes later, she saw a fight in this deserted alley.
One of Sophie's feet was on the ground, the other on the stirrup. She put one hand in her pocket, holding the bike with the other while whistling loudly to get the attention of the others.
