Feeling skeptical about Arius' courage, Tristan commanded, “All right, get to the back. I'll clear the way.”
Arius cleared his throat, but in the end, he didn't say anything. At this point, it seemed that anything he said would be superfluous.
Just as Arius was about to head to the back to cover them, he saw Sophie's suspicious gaze.
“Sophie, come to the middle! I'll cover the back.” Regardless, Sophie was a girl; he could not let her cover the back!
However, the woman shook her head.
“You should stay in the middle! You are now considered a patient, and we must protect you.”
Sophie still had the virus analysis file in her hands, and she had already figured out everything. Now all she needed to do was to get out of there, and she would be able to control the virus this time.
Arius knew she said that to save face for him, so he had no choice but to continue walking in the middle.
The route down the mountain was challenging because it was a primitive forest, and there were no roads at all.
Meanwhile, the terrorists had been chasing them, and a helicopter had been hovering overhead the whole time, trying to find their location.
The journey was extremely treacherous; Tristan and Sophie took turns saving him from danger.
Among the three, Arius was the most disheveled one. He was a little speechless at how things ended up.
He had not eaten lunch since noon, and now he was starving; he did not have the energy to go any further.
“Why don't you two go first? After you get out, have someone fly a helicopter here to pick me up,” Arius suggested.
The man sat down on the ground, unable to walk any longer.
Sophie frowned at his lack of physical fitness. “I asked you to go to training camp the last time, but you declined. Have you now learned your lesson?” she chastised.
“Sophie, please get your facts right. I'm a doctor! Why would I need to go to a training camp?”
Arius continued to lie on the ground. All he wanted was to rest; he would deal with everything else later.
“There are poisonous snakes and ferocious beasts here. Are you sure you want to stay here alone?” There was no way to stop him from courting death if he wanted to.
“But I really can't walk anymore!” Arius said weakly. If he kept running like this, he would run himself to death sooner or later.
“Let's go! Don't worry about him. If he wants to die, we can't stop him.” Tristan did not want to deal with the man.
Sophie frowned as she could not bear to leave Arius alone.
Even though she was a girl, she was not as delicate as he was. “Get up quickly. Stop acting so meekly like a woman.”
“Sophie, you are out of my league!” Arius lamented.
Suddenly, Tristan heard the sound of beasts. Two fierce beasts, to be exact.
“D*mn it!”
Although they had weapons, they would surely attract the attention of the terrorists who were looking for them if they used them now.
Sophie turned to face Tristan after hearing it as well. He hurled a blade at her, which she grabbed.
