Chapter 91
However, Scott was not looking at him at all, and instead at Naomi. His gaze fell squarely on Naomi’s face, as though anyone else outside of her did not exist.
Naomi froze. Although she had her back toward him, she could recognize his voice in a heartbeat.
Did he say he was waiting for her?
Naomi was stunned by this. She turned around and gaped. “You…”
She wanted to ask him if anything was wrong; otherwise, why would he be here waiting for her?
The only reason she could think of was that something was wrong and he wanted to talk to her about
it
However, she stopped herself before she could finish her sentence. She suddenly thought of something, but she was not in a place to bring it up right then and there, especially with Charles around.
Everyone else thought she and Scott were still married during dinner, and Naomi refrained from telling the truth at that time, mostly out of courtesy towards Chandler.
Now that dinner was already over, she had a good mind to confront Scott about this. She wondered how long Scott was willing to go about hiding their divorce. Naomi was never one to care about other people’s opinions, but she knew Scott had his reputation and family status at stake. As long as his request was reasonable, she would try her best to comply with it.
Naomi finally nodded, then turned to Charles and said, “Yes. Good night, Charles. Have a good
night’s rest.”
With that, she smiled and then left with Scott, leaving Charles standing in sheer astonishment. He stared at the two of them leaving, and all of a sudden, a twinge of pain struck him, as though the mere sight of them together pained him.
He lowered his head and, with his eyes closed, tried to calm himself down. By the time he opened his eyes once more, Scott’s car was already pulling out of the compound. He watched the rear headlights. disappear in the distance, then took out his phone and dialed a number. “Hello, Amelia? Can I ask you something?”
Meanwhile, Scott’s car cruised onto the freeway. The city was surprisingly busy that night, but the traffic got smoother the moment they entered the freeway.
Scott was in the driver’s seat, whereas Naomi was in the front passenger seat, staring out the window in silence. If anything, she was a little surprised; Scott would always have his driver chauffeuring him wherever he went, and she never saw Scott drive himself before throughout their three years of marriage.
When she got into the car, she wanted to tell Scott to let the driver take over instead; Scott was always so busy with work that she did not want him to be overly exhausted by the drive, but she did not get

They were no longer married, so she was not in a place to dictate what Scott should or should not do.
