A black cat was standing on top of a small building and its golden eyes stared at the busy street below. It watched the people and the cars for quite a while as if searching for something.

"I wonder where it is.." The cat suddenly spoke, "I am pretty sure HER aura coming from this part of city. I can faintly smell her fragrance."

Under the moonless night sky, the cat jumped to another building then to the next, following the trail of faint fragrance of the person it longed to meet. The faint fragrance kept leading the way, until it reached the a huge mansion. Yes, that mansion was the Wu Family House.

"It's here? Why?" The cat didn't understand, why that person was living among the humans? It was way below HER standard.

The cat easily jumped over the tall fence, if anyone saw it, they would be surprised because a normal cat couldn't jump THAT high. As it kept following the scent, the black cat noticed that it came from one of the window in the second floor of that mansion.

The cat jumped to the balcony, saw through the window but no one was there. The cat sighed as it flopped its body on the edge of the balcony. It felt tired after taking a long journey, searching for HER. The elder had given a prophecy, he said SHE was in this city

"..My lady.. where are you.." The Cat muttered in sadness, "This Ling Mao misses you terribly.."

Thousand years...

For thousand years she had cultivated in slumber..

After what that damn goddess did to her savior, she chose to go into slumber and cultivate.

With that the cat made noises, scratching the door. Inside the room, Ming Yue frowned and turned to the door decorated with four window frames. She noticed a cat was scratching it, making noises as if wanting to be noticed. The twins saw the black cat and wondered how did it end up at the second floor balcony.

"My Lady!" The cat jumped toward Ming Yue who opened the door to pick it up.

Ming Yue was startled, not only because the cat jumped toward her but it spoke as well! Even the twins' jaw slacked down, staring at the black cat in disbelief. They knew about guardians, evil spirits and ghosts but now a talking cat?! This was too unbelievable!

Ming Yue caught the black cat and gazed upon those golden eyes. "Who are you? Why are you calling me your lady?"

'Eh? My Lady doesn't recognize me? Why?' The black cat mused, staring at the confused Ming Yue.

"My Lady, you don't remember This Ling Mao?" The cat asked, its eyes started to glittered with tears.

Ming Yue felt that name was familiar and when she saw its teary eyes, she felt her heart ached. But why? why her heart ached for this black cat? She clearly remembered that she had never met this cat before. No, crossed that. She had never met a talking cat before.

"I am Ling Mao from the Witch Clan!" The cat exclaimed.

"The Witch Clan?!" All three people spoke in sync.

Ghosts and evil spirits, heavenly beasts and now witch. Somehow Ming Yue encountered more and more mysteries of the world, yet.. somehow she had a feeling that this was just the tip of the iceberg...
