Chapter 120
In the study, the oppressive atmosphere made Yonas feel a bit breathless. Nathan was painting at his desk, not even glancing at him.
ou been so
After a long while, when the painting was finally completed, Nathan put down his brush and said, “What have you busy with lately?”
“Just some trivial matters,” Yonas replied.
“Trivial matters? I think you’re caught up in a romance. I’m not against you being in love, but you should have heard of that woman’s past, Nathan said, his face full of concern.
Yonas gave a self–mocking smile and replied. ‘Grandpa, I know her better than anyone. There’s no need to hear it from
others.”
Nathan chuckled. “How do you know that?”
Yonas shrugged. “If no one had complained, why would you suddenly call me?”
Yes, someone did send me

nonsense,”
Yonas didn’t respond, knowing his grandfather probably didn’t believe them and was just calling him back to tease him. “I won’t interfere in your romantic affairs. You decide for yourself. You may go now,” Nathan said.
After her last paper was published, Yasmine directly signed a contract with the Journal of Psychology and had her article featured in the publication. This caused a huge sensation in the school and was even announced on the school’s internal
network.
At the police station, Helen anxiously waited, not knowing when her brother would be able to get her out. After what seemed like an eternity, a lawyer finally arrived. “Ms. Flynn, after the witness changed her testimony, the police can only hold you for twenty–four hours. Eighteen hours have already passed. I will get you bailed out, but this process might take some time. During this period, you have the right to remain silent.”
Helen nodded heavily, understanding what the lawyer meant. The thought that she would be out soon brought a hint of joy to her face. ‘Yasmine, you probably never imagined this outcome, did you?’ she thought.
At the Russell Group building, Yonas was busy typing on his computer when he received a call from his subordinate. Upon hearing what was said, a smile appeared on his lips.
At the same time, Xavier furiously smashed a cup on the ground “How is that possible? What have you all been doing?
“You can’t even keep an eye on a child. What am I paying you for?” he yelled.
“Mr. Flynn, there were many of them, and they were all very powerful, one of his subordinates stammered.
“Shut up! Are you saying I shouldn’t have hired you?” Xavier squinted his eyes menacingly.
The subordinate immediately shook his head. I’m sorry, Mr. Flynn.”
“Useless!” Xavier clenched his fists. Louise’s daughter had been taken away, and the people who took her were definitely Yonas’s men. There was just one more procedure left before Helen could be bailed out, but now everything was ruined.
Just as the lawyer completed the paperwork to take Helen away, an unexpected turn of events occurred. The police suddenly apprehended Helen. Startled, she attempted to run, but she was quickly stopped.

“What are you doing? I’ve already been bailed out, and my lawyer is right here!” Helen protested, unwilling to accept what was happening The door was just ten steps away, but she was caught again.
“Helen, the witness has identified you as the mastermind. We are now arresting you according to the law.” The police officer placed the arrest warrant in front of Helen.
The lawyer was shocked as he looked at the arrest warrant, the bail papers slipping from his hand to the ground.
As Helen was dragged back by the police, she screamed, “Go find my brother! Tell him to save me!“
With a grim expression, the lawyer left the police station and immediately called Xavier, ‘Mr. Flynn, what happened? Why did that woman suddenly change her testimony?”
Xavier took a deep breath and said, “Her daughter was taken away.”
“What should we do now?” the lawyer asked.
“You head back for now,” Xavier replied, feeling overwhelmed. If he went home, his mother would bombard him with endless questions, and even if he didn’t go home, her calls would be incessant. To make matters worse, he discovered that the Russell family was already making moves, even targeting the Flynn family’s stock holdings. Everything seemed to be falling apart. He put down the phone.
At the counseling office of Aurelith University, Winston brought flowers, and Carter also offered words of encouragement. Yasmine’s paper had been published in the Journal of Psychology, adding a noteworthy achievement to the university’s history
Yasmine walked out of the school gates carrying the flowers, accompanied by Lucy and Chuck.
“Yasmine, let’s go to the resort!” Lucy said excitedly, waving a few tickets in front of Yasmine.
Yasmine knew about the resort Lucy was talking about. Lucy had been wanting to go there for a long time and had mentioned it to Yasmine at least five times. When asked why she was hesitant, Yasmine explained it was because the resort had only been open for less than a year. Many prominent figures hosted their events there, and it often accommodated guests from outside the area.
Yasmine glanced at Yonas and knew that the tickets were probably from him.
Seeing her hesitate, Yoselin quickly pulled her into the car. “Yasmine, don’t hesitate any longer. Let’s just consider this a celebration for your paper being published successfully.”
Yasmine couldn’t help but laugh as she was practically dragged into the car. Lucy followed along in Chuck’s car.
They booked an entire suite, which had five rooms, essentially like a small villa. The back garden of the villa faced the swimming pool, and a barbecue grill was set up in the garden.
The waiter brought up dishes, along with a variety of alcoholic beverages. Lucy eagerly opened all the bottles, placing one in front of everyone except Yoselin. Under Yoselin’s repeated pleading and pouting, Yonas finally agreed to give her a bottle of low–alcohol fruit wine.
“Yasmine, last time when we drank, you were sick and couldn’t join us. This time, you can’t escape!” Lucy immediately raised her bottle and clinked it with Yasmine’s, taking a couple of hearty swigs.
Yasmine smiled and took a sip as well. Unlike the burning sensation of strong spirits, red wine was bitter and sweet, with a lingering aftertaste, However, drinking a large gulp still left her chest feeling hot.
Watching Lucy drink as if she were gulping down water made Yasmine laugh. Yoselin, trying to imitate her, also took a
