Effie heard some voices from outside the bathroom stall. It was some foreigners saying. That woman from Clusia it place

“Those judges were all smiles with her, they must really like her. Giving such high scores–had I not read her paper, I would’ve suspected she paid 

them off

Listening to all the chatter made Effie’s mind even more chaotic. She tore up the report card she was holding and tossed the pieces into the trash. The images flooding her mind included not only Yasmine’s applause and praise when she took first place but also Elvis‘ intense gaze. Elvis was second, and knowing his unyielding personality. Yasmine taking first must have really piqued his interest 

Effie composed herself and returned to the auditorium. Yasmine was surrounded by a crowd, all eager to see her grading sheet. Effic noticed Elvis standing in a corner outside the group, watching Yasmine with intense interest.

Yasmine nodded and began to carefully listen to the judges questions. 

The discussion lasted a full two hours–an hour questioning her, followed by an hour with Elvis. After leaving the meeting room, Yasm lazily.

The two chatted all the way back to the hall. This scene was witnessed by Effie, who watched them with discomfort. On one side was Yasmine and on the other was Elvis. Why were these two walking together, chatting and laughing? 

Yasmine walked up to Effe. “Elvis, I’m heading back with a friend” 

“Alright, goodbye Ms. Sanchez, Elvis left without even sparing Effie 

another glance. 

On the way back, Effie seemed unhappy. “Effic, what’s wrong?” Yasmine asked with concern 

Effie glumly said, “Yasmine, I came in twentieth-

“Hut I was the last one, and Elvis was second” Efe said, still worned that Elvis wouldn’t like her.

Chapter 179 

The defense 

was tentatively scheduled for seven days later. During these seven days, everyone could properly prepare for the defense. Those who had been eliminated would move out of the hotel within the next two days, with Dekker Competition’s official staff having already booked their flights. Although they didn’t make it to the next round, they were already proud to have participated in such a grand event. 

A few days before the defense, Effie suddenly suggested to Yasmine that they go to a bar for some fun. Yasmine agreed, but when she arrived at the gathering, she realized it wasn’t just the two of them–everyone who had advanced was there too. Some people were giving Yasmine meaningful looks, while Elvis sat quietly in a corner reading a book. 

Yasmine noticed that since Effie arrived, her eyes hadn’t left Elvis. However, Effie wasn’t the only one attracted to Elvis; within half an hour, three other girls had approached him for drinks. She also observed that every time Elvis spoke to someone, Effie’s eyes flashed coldly.
