Chapter 18
“Mom, Xavier just feels sorry for her. He heard she’s unemployed and not very educated. Plus, he wants a quick divorce, so he’s offering her some extra cash to leave willingly.” Yvette explained, trying to make sense of it all.
Melissa shot her a skeptical look. “That doesn’t make it okay. I need to talk to their family about this. Xavier can’t s feelings for her, right?”
still have
Yvette chuckled, a bright smile crossing her face. “Mom, what are you talking about? There’s no way Xavier likes her. He didn’t even touch her; he waited for nue for three years.”
“Now that’s like it. But don’t worry about the house; I’ll handle that, Melissa said, and after sending Yvette off, she dialed
Selena.
Selena was stunned when she heard the news. She couldn’t believe Xavier had given the house to Yasmine. ‘She hasn’t even given me a grandchild. What right does she have to take the villa‘ she thought in anger.
She tried to call Yasmine, only to find she had been blocked. Unable to reach Yasmine and afraid to ask Xavier for fear of causing misunderstandings between him and Yvette, Melissa decided it was best to wait a few days.
Meanwhile–Yasmine was busy in her rented apartment, brushing up on the psychology knowledge she had once let slip
away
When Monday rolled around, Yasmine arrived at the counseling office, only to find that very few students had visited. She hadn’t even seen Yoselin.
However, various related clubs started coming by to ask for her help with their activities. Soon enough, word spread that a stunning teacher had joined the psychological center.
Yasmine was enjoying her free time, feeling like she was back in college–reading books and chatting with students.
That day, a student from the psychology club came by to ask for her assistance. After discussing relevant topics, she received a call from Chuck.
Having developed a good impression of Chuck during the move, and feeling grateful for his help, Yasmine agreed. Instead of heading to the cafeteria, she took a detour out of campus and went straight to the supermarket.
Selena was just as baffled and, thinking of the villa matter, raised her voice, “She might be there meeting her lover. Where is she? Keep an eye on her, and don’t let her get away! I’ll be over right now.”
“Keep an eye on her? She’s already gone. Mom, why are you so eager to find her?”
Helen was fuming. “Has he lost his mind? That house should’ve gone to me! He’s giving it to that woman? Just wait, Mom. When I find her, I’ll stop her and figure out what’s going on.”
