The day before the land auction. Yasmine met with Yvette. After Their last conversation, Yvette no longer felt afraid when facing Yasmine. With everything laid out in the open, the worst ise scenario was just ending up in jail. 

Yvette ordered an iced Americano, but Yasinine stopped her, “If you’re pregnant, it’s better to just have some water” 

“Thanks.” Yvette was a bit surprised. She could see the clarity in Yasmine’s eyes, free of any animosity. “I misunderstood you before.” 

“What?” Yasmine was a little surprised. 

“I always thought your coldness towards Xavier was just an act of bravery. I heard a lot about you from Helen and mom. I believed you were deeply devoted to Xavier, and it seemed impossible for you to give up so quickly. Whether your aloofness and distance were real or fake, I thought he always had a place in your heart. It seems I was wrong,” Yvette chuckled self- deprecatingly. 

Yasmine didn’t respond to her remark; she wasn’t there to chit–chat with Yvette. She got straight to the point, “Are you and Xavier also attending tomorrow’s land auction?” 

Yvette thought about it for a moment, then nodded, “Do you have a piece of land you want to buy?” 

Yasmine nodded, “Emerald Isle.” 

“No wonder, everyone in Soucrity is going crazy over an Emerald Isle. I’ve heard that this time Mr. Ellis didn’t raise the land price on purpose. In fact, he lowered it by five percent. He is truly a person not driven by money,” Yvette remarked thoughtfully. 

A gleam flashed in Yasmine’s eyes. “That’s really something. Is Xavier also planning to buy Emerald Isle?” 

“Exactly, I’ve heard the new flight route will pass over this island. If we can acquire Emerald Isle, building a massive resort there, plus adding attractions like an underwater world, should boost the economy of Soucrity,” Yvette stated clearly. 

She gave Yvette a deep look. “What if I told you the new flight route doesn’t actually pass through Emerald Isle? What would you do then?” 

Yvette suddenly dropped her gaze and let out a breath in disbelief. “This… how could it be possible?” 

Yasmine chuckled softly as if she had figured something out. “Then let me tell you, last time Mr. Ellis privately called us over to say that the new flight route doesn’t go through Emerald Isle, but through Crescent Isle instead.” 

“Impossible!” exclaimed Yvette, looking a bit flustered. 

“These words came straight from Mr. Ellis. How could it be impossible?” Yasmine smiled. 

Yvette suddenly looked up at her, “Are you really kind enough to tell me this?” 

Yasmine took a sip of her iced Americano and said sarcastically, I’m not telling you this to compete with you but to have you inform Irene that I’m bidding for the Emerald Isle.” 

Yvette immediately caught on, “You mean?” 

“Yeah,” Yasmine replied. 

“I get it,” Yvette said. 

After leaving the café, Yasmine bumped into Yonas at the foot of her building. The moment he saw Yasmine, Yonas looked unusually tense, “Yasmine.”

Since the last charity atretien, she hadn’t seen much of Yonas Seeing him again after several days, he felt somewhat unfamiliar. “Mr. Russell, is there something you need?”
