Chapter 25
‘Forum’ Yasmine paused for a moment, then shook her head.
Yoselin pulled out her phone and showed Yasmine a trending post. “This one. Someone leaked that you only finished high school and that you used… other methods to get into college and become a psychology teacher. Yoselin bit her lip, looking orried as she glanced over at Yasmine.
Yasmine checked the post quickly and remembered the doubtful looks she’d gotten in the office today. Everything suddenly made sense.
As Yasmine’s had no response, Yoselin’s voice turned anxious. “Yasmine, a lot of people have seen this post, and they’re saying really harsh things. If this keeps up, it could make school tough for you….”
Yasmine just smiled softly, reassuring her. “Don’t worry. I’ll be fine. It’s just a post, not at big deal. Right now, let’s focus on getting something to eat.”
Yasmine suspected this post was probably from Helen, but it didn’t bother her much. After facing bigger challenges in life, she wasn’t fazed by this kind of petty drama. She lowered her gaze and smiled, as if the harsh words online didn’t get to her one bit.
Somehow, Yoselin felt comforted by Yasmine’s demeanor. She smiled back at Yasmine and followed her into the cafeteria line.
Yoselin was the daughter of the Russell family, while Yasmine had become a hot topic since she stepped foot on campus, especially given the recent forum thing. Thus, ast soon as they stepped into the cafeteria, they turned heads.
“Hey, isn’t that Yasmine and Yoselin? What are they doing together?”
“What’s with them eating in the cafeteria?”
“Seriously, how could the two possibly be connected?”
Suddenly, the students remembered the post on the forum.
“Do you think Yasmine got the teaching gig because of Yoselin? Maybe Yoselin pulled some strings.”
“Come on! Yasmine herself said she got into this school on her own. I bet she’s just trying to ride on Yoselin’s coattails.”
“Exactly! She’s the one who admitted she got here by herself. But what does ‘by herself

really mean, you know…”
The whispers turned into all sorts of nasty assumptions.

“What else can she count on? It’s all about the looks and the body… but hey, at least she carned it all herself.
“That’s right. I mean, Ms. Beauty just needs to be stunning, not necessarily a great teacher.”
Yoselin felt her anger rising. She looked at Yasmine, who was eating quietly, and felt an intense need to protect her.
“Enough about this! Yasmine is nothing like you think!” Yoselin stood up, glaring at the group in front of her. Her voice wasn’t loud, but it silenced everyone, and the exchanged glances while sizing up Yasmine and Yoselin.
After a moment, a student finally spoke after throwing a sideways glance at Yasmine. “Yoselin, don’t be fooled. With just a high school diploma, how did she get into college as a psychology teacher? She must be really scheming. Don’t let her pull the wool over your eyes!”
A third voice chimed in, “Yeah, she seems innocent enough, but you never know what tricks she used to get where she is. Maybe she got in by sleeping her way up.”
Another chimed in, “Exactly. Yoselin, we’re not targeting you. We just can’t stand women like her who don’t fit in their roles…”
“That’s not true! Yasmine…” Yoselin was getting more and more upset, ready to stand up for Yasmine.
Just then, a woman in the crowd interrupted with a mocking tone, “Yoselin, after all the scandalous stuff Yasmine has done, her reputation is ruined, and you’re still hanging out with her?”
