Chapter 307 

Every day, Irene’s company forum was targeted by a variety of people, causing their stock to drop steadily. Unable to let this trend continue, she discussed it with the company leadership and finally decided to hold a clarification meeting, stating that they would no longer use any controversial plans. 

The design ended up back with Morgan. The board had held two meetings to discuss whether to proceed with the plan and in the end, it was Morgan who made the final decision to go ahead with it. 

The cold wind howled against the car windows, creating an array of sounds. Yasmine, sitting in the driver’s seat, kept the windows tightly closed as she drove towards the hospital. Although she was sure Yonas would be fine at the hospital, she still wanted to see for herself. 

After half an hour, Yasmine finally entered the hospital room. Looking at Yonas sleeping soundly on the hospital bed, she saw that he was not in any danger, yet he still hadn’t woken up. 

“Yonas?” she whispered. The empty hospital room offered no response. Sitting by the bed, she felt this was the only time she could look at Yonas without restraint. She gently reached out and touched Yonas’s nose. 

“What are you doing?” a voice asked. 

Who? Yasmine wondered, startled. She quickly pulled her hand away as someone she least wanted to see walked into the 

room. 

Yasmine couldn’t understand why this woman always managed to appear precisely wherever Yonas was, especially right when she turned up. It was as if she was being caught red–handed. 

“Since you’re here to look after him, I’ll be going,” Yasmine said. Without hesitation, she stood up and started to leave. Before she could take a step, she felt her hand being tightly held. On the hospital bed behind her, Yonas was still asleep, his eyes never opening as he grasped Yasmine’s hand. Shocked, Yasmine tried to pull away but found Yonas’s grip only tightened. 

The scene pierced Irene’s heart, causing the defenses she’d constructed for herself to collapse all at once. The palace she had built in her own mind was now being occupied by more and more people. 

“Let go of him,” Irene snapped. “You’d better take a good look; he’s the one holding onto me Yasmine retorted calmly as she stepped aside to make it clearer. 

Irene was unfazed, glaring fiercely at Yasmine. “Haven’t you given up on him yet? Yasmine, I hope you think this through- Yonas has already agreed to get engaged with me. I’d appreciate it if you stopped interfering.” 

“Did you do something regarding Abel and Bonnie’s situation?” Yasmine asked, her eyes probing for answers. 

Laughing, Irene moved in closer and said, “You can’t actually be naive enough to ask me that, can you? Yasmine, whatever’s happening at your school, don’t pin it on me. You know well enough what kind of person you are. I’m merely advising you 

and me.” to stay away from Yonas; it’s better for both 

you 

Even if she wouldn’t admit it, Yasmine already realized that in this world, besides those already locked up, Irene was the only one who could hate her so deeply. 

“Irene, nobody can do anything without leaving a 

race.” She lifted her hand to free it from Yonas’s grip, but he held it tight. 

Irene leaned in, aggressively prying Yonas’s hand away. With a disdainful glance at Yasmine, she said, “Don’t think that by getting close, you can make Yonas fall for you. Yasmine, we’ve been friends since childhood; you can’t match that bond.” 

“I’ve never wanted to compete with you. He knows who he truly loves,” Yasmine replied.

Irene swiftly separated them, asserting arrogantly, “Just leave, M. Sanchez. Yonas only needs me to take care of him.” 

Yasmine stayed silent, turned around, and left the ward. 

Irene sat on the bedside, taking Yasmine’s previous spot. She clasped Yonas’s hand and spoke with an indescribable tone of complaint, “I’m right here beside you, so why are you holding her hand? Won’t you just turn around and look at me? Aren’t we good together?” Irene questioned. 

She lowered her eyes in disappointment and murmured, “I’ve known for a while that you love her. Yonas, are you really not afraid she’ll remember everything?” 

Irene knew that the person on the hospital bed wouldn’t respond, yet she couldn’t suppress her laughter. She was genuinely eager to see what Yasmine would be like when she regained her memory. 

Yasmine returned to the Sanchez residence, where Donna was waiting, clearly annoyed. Just then, Yoselin stepped out of her 

room. 

“You little witch! How dare you record me? Using such vile and shameless tricks!” Donna spat angrily, her words filled with obscenities. 

With a sneer, Yasmine retorted, “You spoke those words, I merely recorded them.” 

“You’re disgusting, using such despicable methods to trap me. If it weren’t for what you all said, how could I have confessed?” Donna cried, tears in her red eyes, raising a hand as if to strike. 

Yasmine grabbed her wrist and flung it away harshly. “I advise you to remember who you are before hitting me again. I can record once, and I can record a second time. Behave yourself, or just get out. Do you think Aunt Ivette is protecting you because of your relationship with her? Don’t be naive,” Yasmine warned.
