Chapter 7
Yasmine’s eyes fluttered slightly. If it hadn’t been for her relationship with Xavier back then, she might have become a psychologist. But after all these years, even if she hadn’t lost her skills, could she really go back to the industry?
Winston noticed her hesitation and encouraged her gently. “There’s no rush, but if you’re interested, I’m more than willing to help you out.”
Thanks. Mr. White, Yasmine replied, feeling a wave of warmth. It had been years since her last visit, and she was surprised he still cared about her.
She then asked Winston about his health, and they chatted for a long time. He even invited her to stay for lunch. It wasn’t until the afternoon that Yasmine finally left the White residence
Since she was going hunting the next day, Yasmine had prepared her clothes and gear in advance.
The next morning. Lucy drove over to pick her up, and they headed to Minaret Mountain. They arrived early and only saw a few unfamiliar faces. This hunting event was hosted by the Russell family, drawing all sorts of people. Yasmine didn’t feel like socializing, so she made a beeline for the house to change and grab her hunting rifle…
Before she stepped outside, she heard a familiar voice coming from just outside the door.
“Hey, Xavier, Yvette! What brings you two here? I thought you weren’t into this kind of thing?”
“Yvette said the food here is pretty good, so I thought I’d come to have a try
Yasmine paused and then pushed the door open and walked out. She saw Xavier standing there with Yvette, and his friend Henry was cheerfully greeting them.
When Henry noticed Yasmine, he looked surprised and blurt out. “Mrs. Flynn… what are you doing here?” He immediately regretted it and turned to check Xavier’s expression.
Yasmine had her hair tied back and wore no makeup, looking fresh–faced. She swapped her glasses for contacts and donned a simple camouflage outfit for hunting, giving off a neat and confident aura
Xavier had never seen her like this before. He frowned and asked, “Why are you here?”
Lucy, just finished changing, shot Xavier a glare. “What? Is it just fine for you to have fun with your lover while Yasmine can’t enjoy herself a bit!”
“That’s not what Xavier meant, Ms. Lynch, Yvette chimed in. “He and Ms. Sanchez are divorced now, yet Ms. Sanchez came here to keep an eye on him while she doesn’t know how to hunt. It just feels a bit… inappropriate.
The crowd, coming from well–off families, had heard bits about their stories. Over the years, Xavier had never once brought Yasmine around, basically denying her any recognition as Mrs. Flynn. Now that they were divorced, seeing Yasmine follow Xavier around felt a bit sharneless to them.
Yasmine tugged on Lucy’s sleeve quickly to stop her. With a smile, Yasmine turned to Yvette and Xavier, saying, “Sorry if there’s been a misunderstanding. I’m really here to hunt.”
She loaded her rifle skillfully and added in a casual tone, “Not only can I hunt, but I’m also pretty good at it. Mr. Flynn, Ms. Grant, if you don’t believe it, just have a try
