"How outrageous! You—" As the words were about to leave his mouth, Jasiah swallowed them back upon seeing Yolanda. "M-Ms. Henderson…"
The once arrogant Jasiah now appeared anxious and meek, completely losing his bravado.
Seeing that, Wesley and the others exchanged confused glances, unsure of what to do.
Yolanda glanced at the middle-aged man who had just entered and felt he looked somewhat familiar. But she quickly recalled that he was one of Joel's subordinates.
If Joel's men could behave so oppressively, she figured she should remind him to clean up the house.
"Officer Keller, weren't you going to teach them a lesson? What's wrong?" Esteban was perplexed.
However, Jasiah paid no attention to Esteban and cautiously approached Yolanda.
Yolanda was Joel's savior. As Joel's subordinate, how could he possibly have the audacity to act arrogantly in front of her?
"Ms. Henderson… I didn't expect it was you…" Jasiah forced a smile and bowed his head, apologizing to Yolanda.
"Didn't expect?" Yolanda raised an eyebrow and gave him a sharp slap across the face. "So, if I wasn't the one here today, you would have arrested innocent people?"
"N-No…" Jasiah covered his face as he frantically defended himself.
Just then, Yolanda delivered another slap.
"That first slap was for the patient whose rescue was delayed. This one now is because you, a public official, can't discern right from wrong and enable the morally corrupt."
"I'm sorry. I'm truly sorry." Jasiah's cheeks were swollen from the blows, but he didn't dare utter a single complaint.
