The Loakes wanted to form a marriage alliance because they needed help from the Hendersons. If not, Jared and Roan wouldn't necessarily be enthusiastic about having Yolanda as her daughter-in-law.
They were suppressing their resentment due to their lack of strength compared to the Hendersons. However, if the condition in the Loakes improved, the first thing Jared would do was sever his ties with Yolanda, tearing away any pretense he had shown her before.
With a personality like the true Yolanda's, she wouldn't fare well in the Loake family. Diana wouldn't have chosen such a match if she were thinking for Yolanda's sake.
Yet here she was, acting as if everything she did was for Yolanda's benefit, which was disgusting.
"Are you done?" Yolanda shot Diana a cold glance before walking to the door and opening it. "I'm going to bed."
"What kind of attitude is this?" Diana was stunned. She couldn't believe how Yolanda spoke to her.
This child had changed inside out since she came out of juvenile detention. The old Yolanda, while rebellious, had always obeyed Diana's commands.
Diana couldn't accept Yolanda's defiance and pointed at her, shouting angrily, "I don't care whether you accept this or not; it's already decided! I'll discuss it with Mrs. Loake and arrange for your engagement as soon as I find a suitable date!"
With that, Diana stormed out.
Yolanda didn't take Diana's words to heart. Even if she set a date, it would mean nothing if she didn't attend the engagement ceremony.
Besides, Jared was likely just as unwilling to get engaged to her and was probably racking his brain for a way out.
"Yolanda, I think Jared is the best man you can get." Yvonne suddenly appeared from her room and stepped into Yolanda's bedroom.
