It was Jasmine who walked in. She was pregnant but still dressed in something pretty revealing, with high heels on, dolled up to the nines. 

Jason’s eyes flickered as he suppressed the hatred and showed a gentle smile. “Jasmine, you’re here.” 

After the illusion faded, all he felt for Jasmine was disgust. Seeing how she was dressed, he realized he’d been blind as a bat before. 

Jasmine originally wanted to see Jason earlier, but she bumped into a friend who took her to a hotel. Since getting pregnant, she hadn’t allowed herself to indulge much, so this little escape felt incredibly satisfying. 

She looked at Jason with feigned sympathy and concern. “Jason, I’m sorry for coming to see you so late. I was really upset 

you sooner.” when I heard about your accident and couldn’t work up the courage to visit 

“It’s okay. I know my legs won’t recover and I’ll be disabled. But for you and the baby you’re expecting, I’ve transferred my shares to Jennifer. 

“She’s gonna take care of you and the baby. That’s the deal she’s got with the shares. On the 15th of every month, when the company’s funds are deposited, you can go get half of the money from her.” 

Jason thought, ‘Jasmine, I may be foolish, but my love for you is sincere and true. 

I’ve maintained a clear conscience, both to the heavens above and to you. 

‘You never should have. You really never should have dragged me into this mess. Now I want revenge. 

‘Neither Jennifer nor you, nor Nick should expect things to be easy.

Jasmine excitedly flung herself into Jason’s arms. 

Jason felt disgusted. He had his people investigate Jasmine’s past and found out that she had gone to a hotel with another man before coming here. 

Having been involved with this woman was truly revolting. 

He gently pushed Jasmine away. “Jasmine, I’m going abroad for a few days. Remember to get the money from Jennifer on the 15th of every month.” 

Jasmine sighed with relief, glad she wouldn’t have to look after this cripple anymore. 

Fortunately, he wanted to leave on his own, so she wouldn’t have to go through the trouble of finding an excuse. 

“Jason, take care of yourself while you’re abroad. The baby and I will be right here, waiting for you. And don’t you forget to miss me every single day.” Jasmine feigned a sorrowful reluctance. 

“Absolutely, Jasmine, I’ll miss you. You take care too,” Jason replied with a warm smile, but there was a cold glint in his eyes

Jasmine found the smell here unbearable. She said, “Jason, I’m pregnant, and the smell here makes me feel queasy…” 

“I know you’re not feeling well, so just head back. I’m leaving tomorrow. Take good care of yourself.” Jason had a slight smile in his eyes. 

Jasmine nodded. “Alright! I’ll see you off at the airport tomorrow” She had to keep up appearances. 

“No need. My mom will send someone to drive me. Don’t worry about me. Just take care of yourself and make sure you deliver a strong, healthy boy for me. My future’s riding on my son,” Jason said seriously. 

Jasmine felt a wave of relief, thinking, “This fool is eager to raise a son for me. It makes me so happy! 

“Alright then, Jason. I’ll be waiting for you to come back.” With that, Jasmine left, thinking it was Jason’s luck to raise a kid for her. 

Jasmine was overjoyed as she left, smiling broadly. 

Jason gazed at her with eyes that were chillingly merciless. 

After Jasmine left, he called Wendy. 

Half an hour later, Wendy arrived at the hospital. 

Wendy looked at Jason’s weary face, her eyes brimming with concern and compassion. Despite his rebellious streak, he was still her own flesh and blood. 

He was her firstborn, and she just couldn’t stand to see him keep doing something foolish. 

She asked, looking weary, “Why did you call me?” 

Jason apologized, “Mom, I’m sorry. I was really out of my mind before. In the future, I’ll be better and won’t make you sad anymore. Please don’t send me abroad, okay? 

“I’ll find a place to keep a low profile for now and focus on learning how to manage the company and how to be a better person. You’re all alone right now, and I want to stay by your side and help you.” 

His voice was sincere, brimming with hope as he looked at Wendy. 

Wendy sneered, “It’s too late. Do you know what I had to sacrifice for those 5% shares? Your grandpa sold an apartment so I could fill that gap.” 

But she already had a plan in mind. She handed Jason a share transfer document. “I’ve thought of another way. If you sign here, I’ll be able to get those 5% shares back. 

“If you agree to give me the shares, I won’t send you abroad, and I’ll let you get treatment here.” 

That was the reason she came to see Jason.
