Chapter 266 

Declan looked puzzled and found it unbelievable. He thought, am not mistaken; Natalie does have other brothers. No way! She took Easton away, so she owes Jennifer this. She has to be Jennifer’s backup.‘ 

Determined, Declan ran over and blocked Natalie’s path. He asked with a curious, alluring tone, “What’s going on? How come you have other brothers?” 

Seeing Declan kept pestering her, Natalie’s anger was visible. She said with impatience, “Declan, if you keep bothering me, don’t blame me for being rude.” 

She found Declan clingy and extremely annoying. The anger in her eyes was intense. 

Noticing Natalie’s impatience, Declan felt a sharp pain in his heart. He had a hateful feeling as if his beloved dog had become someone else’s pet. 

Declan said, “Natalie, you’ll spend your whole life working like a mule for the Simpson family, just a stepping stone for Jennifer. Do you, a country bumpkin, deserve to be happy? You took Easton away; you owe Jennifer.” 

Natalie laughed at Declan’s ridiculous reasoning. Her eyes showed no emotion as she said, “Declan, first of all, I’ve already given Easton back to Jennifer. 

“Secondly, it was your Simpson family that forced me to marry Easton after he became crippled and blind. I returned him to Jennifer as soon as she came back.. 

“I’s your family that owes me. I, Natalie, owe you Simpsons nothing.” 

Declan said, “You might be right, but you’re also part of the Simpsons. It is your duty to contribute to the family.” In his opinion, Natalie was cruel and didn’t deserve happiness.

Natalie walked over to Declan. She looked down at him with sharp eyes, exuding an unmatched grace as the sunlight highlighted her form. 

She said, “Declan, I was only ever good enough to be a workhorse for the Simpson family, only good enough to be a stepping stone for Jennifer. If these words get out online, Jennifer’s acting career is over. 

“And it is you, Jennifer’s brother, who ruins it all by yourself. Besides, you’ve got one thing wrong–I don’t have the last name Simpson, it’s Shawn. I’m just an adoptive daughter of the Simpson family.” 

Natalie squatted down, giving Declan a knowing smile. She said, “Declan, aren’t you being used like a workhorse by Jennifer right now? Aren’t you just another stepping stone, another pawn for her? 

“Think about how your two older brothers got into trouble; it was all related to Jennifer. Next, it’s your turn. I’m really curious to see how Jennifer will handle you. Let’s watch and see 

After speaking, Natalie raised her eyebrows slightly. She wore a mocking smile. 

Declan was taken aback, thinking, ‘What does she mean by saying that?‘

Maurice looked at Natale with concern. He said, “Natalie, these people are nothing but mad dogs. How did you manage to get through these past two years?” 

Natalie smiled and said, “Maurice, the people of the Simpson family are heartless. Nick deliberately ruined his four sons, You might have to wait a bit longer if you want to know why.” 

Maurice replied, “I don’t want to know, Natalie. Just stay away from them. If anything happens, be sure to call me. He thought, “People like Declan are really low–class and heartless.

Declan stared blankly at Natalie as she walked away, his eyes filled with intense anger. 

He murmured, “Natalie, do you think you can come between Jennifer and me? It’s obvious you’re behind what happened to our brothers, yet you’re even blaming Jennifer.” 

Declan was furious. He was mainly angry at himself for not being able to teach Natalie a lesson and avenge Jennifer properly. He slowly sat up from the ground, taking deep breaths to relieve the pain in his body. 

Just then, his phone rang. It was Jennifer calling. He felt disappointed for not helping Jennifer acquire that piece of land. He answered the phone, “Jennifer, I’m really sorry. I couldn’t get that land for you.” 

His voice was filled with disappointment and apology. He wasn’t sure why he felt disappointed. But he felt very sorry for Jennifer. 

Jennifer smiled and said, “Declan, it’s okay. I’ll be back in three days. Could you introduce me to Mr. Wright? He has another 

piece of land, and I think it’s a better deal than Natalie has. 

“If Natalie likes that plot of land, let her have it. Ever since she came back, she’s been trying to take everything from me, even the man I love most. I can’t compete with her, so I can only settle for second best. 

“Since Natalie left, she’s changed a lot. I’m worried she might do something for money that would betray Easton and shame the Simpson family. It’s no big deal if we lose face, but I’m afraid Natalie might end up ruining herself.
