Natalie asked Roger and learned that he likes to eat sardines, though now he can only have light foods.
Smiling, she said, “Mr. Schneider, please take this pill first, and I go make some sardines for you. I’m good at making sardines, and since you have high cholesterol and high blood pressure, you can’t have anything too greasy.”
Roger, moved, nodded eagerly. “You’re such a kind young lady. Thank you!”
Turning to Maurice, Natalie said, “Mr. Chambers, please have someone get fresh sardines ready. I’ll go prepare them right away.
Maurice looked at her in surprise. “Natalie, are you going to cook it yourself?”
Natalie nodded. “Yes. I know Mr. Schneider’s preferences, and he might not eat it if your chef makes it.”
Roger was famously picky about his food. Hearing how attentive Natalie was–ever knowing Roger’s preferences–Maurice was impressed.
“Alright, I’ll have someone arrange it immediately,” Maurice said picking up the phone to call the kitchen.
After chatting with Roger for a few minutes, Natalie followed a waiter to the kitchen.
Jennifer’s eyes widened in shock and disbelief. She had no idea Natalie could cook.
Easton was equally astonished, realizing he didn’t know his wife as well as he thought.
Maurice stayed with Roger, while Easton and Jennifer sat nearby
Jennifer was restless, upset at having botched tonight’s task.
In Ardonia, there were many languages, spoken by various ethnic groups across different regions, and she only knew the common language.
Feeling lost, she couldn’t accept the fact that Natalie was better than her.
Jennifer glanced at Easton secretly; he sat calmly, his handsome face expressionless, his demeanor matching Maurice’s. ‘Maurice is the heir to the Chambers family–how did Natalie know him?‘ Jennifer was jealous but helpless.
Roger, eating his oatmeal, felt his stomach gradually ease.
Half an hour later, Natalie came in carrying the food she had prepared.
“Mr. Schneider, dinner is ready!” Her voice was clear and pleasant, and Roger couldn’t help but smile.
Natalie placed the dishes on the table in front of Roger. She had made braised sardines, with tender, flavorful meat and no bones, making it perfect for both the elderly and children.
Natalie’s cooking was impressive, and this dish was one her grandfather loved as well. She had also prepared a warm vegetable soup to soothe Roger’s stomach.
Roger took a bite of the sardines and gave Natalie a thumbs–up. Natalie smiled brightly, looking lively yet calming. Both Maurice and Easton were captivated by her charm.
After another half hour, Roger gracefully dabbed the corner of his mouth with a napkin.
Natalie also prepared some ginger tea for him. “Mr. Schneider, here’s some ginger tea. Please give it a try.” With that, she

poured him a cup with a gentle smile.
Roger happily took a sip, savoring the warm, rich flavor. He nodded approvingly. “Delicious! My beautiful young lady, shall we get down to business?”
Natalie nodded and turned to Maurice. “Mr. Chambers, are we ready to discuss business?”
