Easton pulled his hand away coldly, staring at her intently. “Jennifer, to me, you’re gentle and kind.” 

“I unconditionally believed you when you spoke ill of Natalie, which was unfair to her. But why did you have to undermine her last night?” he asked. 

“I…” Jennifer was momentarily at a loss for words, unsure of how to respond. 

She had always criticized Natalie in front of him, and he had believed her all the time and never pushed back like this before. 

“I was just angry. I was venting a little. Who knew my mom would take it seriously and blame it on Natalie?” she said. 

“Easton, we’ve grown up together. Don’t you know what kind of person I am? It’s Natalie who came back and took away our happiness,” Jennifer added. 

Easton recalled Natalie’s earlier conversation with James. After his car accident, Jennifer had run off with another man, and he had never doubted her. 

He had believed everything she said. 

“Jennifer, if you hadn’t left back then, I would still marry Natalie. My grandfather only wants me to marry Natalie, the real daughter of the Simpson family,” Easton said. 

At that time, he didn’t understand love. 

If his life had gone as planned, he might have ended up marrying Jennifer. But then Natalie had unexpectedly entered his life. 

Easton walked away.

Jennifer had to find a way to turn the tables. She needed an opportunity to make Easton completely dislike Natalie so that he would marry her 

instead. 

On the way home, Natalie closed her eyes. No matter what, Easton’s words had still hurt her deeply. 

His words pierced her chest like a sharp sword, causing her immense pain. 

Valerie watched her, noticing the torment on Natalie’s face, and could only shake her head slightly, thinking that their marriage was a complete nightmare. 

Natalie recalled their past. She remembered how she would check in on Easton every day, showering him with warmth and care.

After sending the message, Natalie blocked Easton.
