"If Osvaldo became someone else's lover, would you still love him unconditionally?"
In that instant, Selena felt as though she was consumed by fear. An endless chill spread from her heart to her limbs.
Her dark eyes suddenly turned icy cold. "Then I will kill all of you!"
After shouting those words, Selena ran forward as fast as she could, ignoring the sudden pain in her chest.
Alfie emerged from the darkness and stood beside Christ. The two men watched as the panicked and frightened girl went off to find her lover.
"From this moment on, both you and I are her enemies."
Christ smiled sadly. "I would rather have her hate me than watch her marry someone else!"
It was so easy to plot against that man. No one in that room tonight could escape unscathed.
Selena ran into the staircase, searching for Osvaldo's figure in every room she passed. She ran barefooted, fearing that if she was just too slow, everything would truly be lost.
"Osvaldo!"
"Osvaldo!!"
She shouted his name into the darkness, her mind completely blank and unable to recall anything else.
She pushed open one door after another, until she finally reached the end of the hallway.
As she was about to knock on the door, four burly bodyguards blocked her path.
"Miss Turner, this is the Soo family's residence. Please do not cause a disturbance!"
Through the four imposing figures, Selena's gaze fell on the closed door, and a suffocating fear rose in her chest.
"Osvaldo, are you in there?"
"If you are, can you come out?"
There was no response. In the dim light of the night, Selena's voice was the only sound.
She let out a sigh of relief, feeling a small shred of luck in her heart.
Osvaldo, such a powerful man, would definitely not fall for such a despicable scheme.
She tried to calm herself down, suppressing the intense pain in her chest, and took out her forgotten phone from her palm.
With a slight tremble, she dialed Osvaldo's number.
...
As Vivian's hand was about to land on Osvaldo's collar, the sleeping man seemed to sense a strange presence approaching and grabbed Vivian, throwing her out.
Vivian fell heavily to the ground, but she was too panicked to feel the pain, and looked up in confusion.
Was he awake?
However, Vivian realized that she was wrong.
The man's eyes were still closed, still in deep sleep, but there was a disturbing mark on his forehead as if he had been stimulated.
With tears in her eyes, Vivian cried out in despair.
Even in his sleep, he did not allow her to touch him at all.
The woman let out a mournful cry from her throat, desperately rushing forward like a mad person.
