“Angel? What's wrong with you?” Jason lowered his voice.
Maybe the temperature of Jason’s hands was too warm, Angel had a shiver.
“Jason?” Angel's voice was clear.
Angel's legs gave way and she knelt on the ground.
“Angel?” Jason wanted to help her up.
Angel took his hand and shook her head slightly. “Let me calm down,” she said.
Her palms were covered with sweat.
Jason crouched down and looked Angel at the same level. “Angel, what's wrong? Let's go to the hospital.”
Angel shook her head. “Palpitations,” she said calmly. “I will be fine in a minute.”
She closed her eyes gently and took deep breaths again and again.
There was inexplicable voice in her ears and fuzzy figure was in the eyes.
“Miss Anna sent Miss Belle to the hospital.”
“Nobody was home that day.”
What happened that day?
Suddenly, a warm embrace surrounded her.
“Angel.”
“Brother.”
When Angel woke up, she found herself in the hospital in surprise.
“Angel, don't move.” A low voice sounded in the ear.
“Jason?” Angel looked Jason in surprise.
“Why are we in the hospital?
“You fainted on the playground, and I had to take you to the hospital.” Jason looked at her in worry.
Angel pulled off the quilt and got out of bed. She had not had injection and seemed to be just watching.
She said, “Let's go, I am fine.”
“The doctor told you to stay, Angel. Be good.” Jason stopped her and put her on the bed.
Angel's face grew paler and paler. She put her cold hand on Jason's hand. “Jason, get me out of here right now, or you'll see me in a coma later.”
With that, she shook off Jason's hand and stumbled toward outside.
Jason had to keep up with her.
“Angel –" he tried to persuade her.
Angel took hold of his arm. “Just let me go and rest in your car. I had unstable hearbeat in the hospital.
Jason agreed and carefully helped her to his car, put the seat flat and let her lie down.
Angel lay still with a cold sweat on her forehead.
Jason gently wiped her sweat and found that the breath of Angel gradually slow down.
Angel was in such a strange state.
Angel opened her eyes at last.
She slowly sat up and asked Jason to help her put the chair back. Jason handed her a bottle of water.
She took a sip and heaved a long sigh.
“Frightened by me, right?” She showed a tired but familiar smile to Jason.
Jason frowned.
Angel sighed and put her hand on his brow. “Don't frown.”
Jason grasped her wrist and did not let her touch his face. This action made her like Belle.
He caught sight of teeth marks on her wrists, which were no longer visible.
Was that what she bit last time?
“Angel, why? What's the matter?” Jason looked into her eyes.
Angel looked away.
Jason stretched out another hand, pinched her lower jaw, and forced her to face him.
Angel sighed and pushed his hands aside.
“I'm sorry I scared you.” Angel calmed down at last.
“Jason, five years ago, I was in a car accident from which I almost died.”Angel spoke very slowly.
“When I woke up, I just knew Belle had died. I could not accept it, so I went to her home, but they had changed her room. It was curled that they erased the trace of her existence. I was angry and vomited blood, and since then I had heart palpitations.”
Angel’s eyes fell on Jason’s face.
He looked distressed
“There is something I don't remember. The doctor said it was a reaction to traumatic stress. I was very hostile to the hospital, so it was not easy to recover in the hospital. Later, I buried myself in the book and devoted myself to study, and I am fine. But when I came back, I found that a lot of old things would make me have it again, and this one was the worst.”
Angel took a sip of water and looked out the window. “I saw Sofia the first time I came here. Dean Lane told me about her, but I didn't go to see her. Maybe she does not want to talk about the perious things too.”
“Angel, what happened to Belle in those days? I investigated about it, but nothing came up.” Jason said.
Angel looked at him silently.
Should she tell him?
Would he believe her?
Even if it was Jason, could he accept it?
No! It was impossible.
Angel closed her eyes. When she opened them again, everything was clear.
“Jason, I was kidnapped when I was a child, so I became an idiot. My intelligence had a problem, I didn’t understand manything even if I am with Belle. Now I am sober, and I feel there was something wrong with her death, but I have no evidence, sorry.” Angel's voice became low.
Jason patted her shoulder and did not speak.
Angel smiled. “Belle must wish me to be alive. If she knew if you are alive, she would be happy.“
Jason looked at Angel in shock, “What did you say? Belle thought I was dead?”
Angel looked at Jason's reaction and the last doubt in her heart dissipated. She nodded gently, “Yes, Anna told her, and she really could not find you, whether in the foster family or your secret base. She wished you to be alive, even if you were to marry Anna.”
“Why should I marry Anna?” Jason was confused.
Angel took a deep breath and looked at Jason, “Because your mother came to her and told her that she was not a match to her. Anna said, you have promised to marry her, and you will consider her as your sister, and she, as the daughter of the Newman family, must contribute to the Newman family, so, she had to marry William! But as soon as your family disappeared, Anna is with William again.”
Said Angel slowly.
Anna had always been acquiring anything from her, but in the end, she still felt it was not enough.
So, she had to break Anna’s bridge!
Human nature was the most untestable thing.
Anna had obvious intention to Jason and her means were dirty. Who knew if Jason would be fooled?
This time, she wanted to strike first. In any case, she would give Anna any chances!
Jason's voice was very cold, “I never promised to marry Anna, I never knew these things!”
