Chapter 451 I Have Argus' Baby
The citizens here kept quiet about Reina's matter. Jaylon's men went from house to house to question it and even promised that the person who provided the clues would receive generous rewards. But No one mentioned Reina.
After searching for a few hours, Jaylon expected that they would fail it. So he left the small town with his men and headed for the next destination.
Argus told her that Jaylon had already left and might never return. Reina still felt hard to believe it.
Perhaps it was because Jaylon was too powerful in the past, and he did have some power in Canada. So Reina just thought highly of him.
She always thought that as long as he wanted to, there would be nothing he couldn't do.
But today, Reina was so close to him at some moment. Jaylon didn't find her.
In the end, he was just an ordinary person.
After Jaylon left, Reina finally relaxed.
Just in case, she still did not join the evening bonfire party.
After sending Argus out of the door, she stayed in her room to translate the manuscript.
After coming to this small town, Reina was embarrassed to keep using Anaya's money. So Reina accepted some translation work online.
Although Reina did not earn much, she could barely make a living.
At night, she preferred to turn off the lights and work.
The room was quiet and dark, only the computer screen could be seen.
The busy voice and folk music in the distant square jumped into the window accompanied by the night wind, making Reina feel happy.
She translated a short novel and checked it again before sending it to the employer for inspection.
After sending out the file, Reina went downstairs and served herself a glass of coconut milk.
When she came out of the kitchen, she saw a tall man on the sofa.
There was no light in the room, only the moonlight on the floor-to-ceiling windows filled the living room.
The man could not be seen in the dark, but he seemed particularly clear to Reina. She knew him.
Even if she didn't see his face, Reina could picture his appearance in her mind.
She felt extremely nervous and seemed to lose her breath.
For a long time, Reina kept silent, trying to ignore the man on the sofa and sneak upstairs.
Her phone was on the second floor, and as long as she went upstairs and got her phone to call the police...
"Reina," the man called her in a low and calm voice, "it's been so long since
we last met. Aren't you coming over to sit down here?"
Reina froze for a long time before she slowly turned around and walked
over to sit down opposite him. It was Jaylon.
Jaylon appeared so calmly, which meant that his men were already everywhere.
He was not afraid that Reina was trying to flee at all.
Jaylon stared at Reina with his deep eyes. He sized her up as if he wanted
to engrave every detail on her face into his mind.
They both kept silent. Jaylon spoke first, "Reina, why did you lie to me?"
Jaylon sounded angry but helpless, and he also seemed to have some other mixed feelings.
Reina asked indifferently, "Haven't you thought it through for a few months?"
Jaylon was speechless. After a while, he said, "Reina, come back with me."
"The engagement between Nadia and I has been canceled. You have always wanted others to admit you as my wife. I can promise you now."
"But I don't want it anymore. So what?" Reina said calmly. She put on no expression despite her delicate face.
"You have to," Jaylon said.
Jaylon's tone was much gentler than before, but he did not change at all. He
was still decisive and stubborn.
Reina suddenly smiled and asked, "Jaylon, do you know what I hate most
about you?"
"What?" Jaylon asked.
"You have never respected me. In your opinion, I have never been an
independent person." Reina lowered her eyes.
Jaylon tried to explain, but he found that he had no excuse for it.
He repeated, "Reina, come back with me."
