So, to their father, Morgan was the more important one, right?
"Dad, we need to talk. Please listen to me!" Morgan said hurriedly, waving at his father. He felt a little awkward, but he wanted to tell him the truth—that his condition was all just an act.
However, Francis thought that Morgan was just trying to persuade him. He shook his head, refusing to listen to what Morgan had to say.
"That's enough. I can't let you die!" Francis stated coldly.
"Alright! So, that means that between Morgan and Lily, you'd choose to save Morgan, right? You'd choose to save an adopted son, someone who has no blood relations to the Sterling family, over your biological daughter. Is that it?"
A crazed expression suddenly appeared on Hayden's face, and he laughed excitedly.
It was his goal to elicit this very response from them. He wanted to cause the Sterling family members to doubt each other, to put a crack in their relationship, just like how he was treated in the past.
"What nonsense are you spewing? Since when did I say I'm giving up on Lily? I just don't want Morgan to give up on his chance for treatment!" Francis bellowed, defending himself as his face twisted with rage.
"Heh. What's the difference? Only one may live, and you still picked Morgan," Hayden mocked, exposing Francis' deceit.
"You…" Francis was rendered speechless, staring angrily at Hayden. Words failed him, and he had no choice but to grit his teeth in silence.
His expression said it all. Francis had made his choice. There was no way he could let his son die.
"How… How can you do this? That's our daughter! How can you give up on her?" Charlotte lost it, shouting as she grabbed Francis.
"What do you want me to do? Give up on Morgan?" Francis retorted in frustration.
"That's still no reason to let our daughter die!" Charlotte wailed.
