Francis stepped forward, his expression dripping with arrogance as he scanned the crowd.
"Everyone, as you've seen earlier, this is Hayden, the guy who's been guaranteed admission to Brighton!" he announced, his tone sharp and condescending. "Now, I have no idea where he got his hands on this emerald stone, but recently, the market has only turned up one piece like this."
He smirked, continuing, "Since he's brought it here, I can only assume that he's trying to embarrass me, hoping to label my stone as a fake. But whether it's real or not—well, I'm sure you all have your own judgment!
"Why don't we all take a closer look and figure it out? Let's see which stone is real and which one's fake!"
As soon as the words left his mouth, the room went silent for a moment before the crowd erupted into murmurs. Everyone was whispering and debating, their curiosity piqued.
People already knew a bit about Hayden's background, but showing up with another raw emerald stone caught them off guard.
"Alright. Let's not hold back then!" someone said with excitement.
"Yeah, comparing two raw emerald stones to find the real deal isn't easy, though!" another chimed in.
"But if both stones turn out to be real? That'd be huge—think of how much money we're talking about here!"
Eager to uncover the truth, the crowd surged forward, gathering around the two stones. They leaned in, studying the stones like experts, their excitement palpable.
Meanwhile, Hayden stood motionless. He looked indifferent, but inside, he was already mocking them.
"Which one's real?" he thought to himself. "Neither. They're both fakes. Go ahead and waste your time."
The room buzzed with chatter as everyone's attention was glued to the stones. Heated discussions broke out, with theories flying left and right.
Over to the side, Charlotte, Julia, and Anna couldn't help but approach Hayden.
