Morgan quickly understood. He realized that Lily was trying to use him as a shield.
"Yes! What Lily said is true. I can vouch for it. But, maybe Hayden was just momentarily out of his mind when he did all this. When we see him next, we can talk it out, and maybe he won't be so hostile anymore!" Morgan hurriedly agreed, trying to look soft and sympathetic as he explained.
"Don't be too nice to Hayden. We're about to start a new internet company, and Hayden's going to be our competition in the future!" Lily shot him a glare, not wanting him to show any weakness or softness toward Hayden.
But still, Morgan felt guilty and couldn't go too far with being harsh. Logan was a huge variable—if he got caught, it would cost him dearly.
He lowered his head, remaining silent.
At that moment, Charlotte and the others were stunned, their faces filled with shock.
They stared at each other, unable to respond right away.
They were utterly shocked and couldn't accept what they were hearing. It felt like a wave of fear washed over them.
"How… How could this happen? How could he do something like this?" Charlotte's lips trembled as she murmured, her mind filled with a sense of deep unease.
This was a truth she couldn't accept. The son she had always known could never have turned against his own family.
She clenched her fists, her mind full of anger and confusion. As a mother, how could she allow her daughter to be hurt?
But the one doing the hurting was her own son.
