Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 52

"Exactly!"No one cares about him. Now, let's eat." Francis snapped while waving his hand dismissively.

No one dared delay, and they quickly picked up their fork and spoon.

However, Anna suddenly caught a glimpse of Morgan's lips curling into a faint smirk. It was a mocking smile, but it vanished as quickly as it appeared.

A chill ran down Anna's spine as she sensed something was off. Could Morgan really be hiding so much? What else was he keeping from them?

After dinner, Anna sought out Stephanie.

"Stephanie, please tell me, did Hayden used to enjoy studying?" Anna asked, curious.

"I can't say for sure. Mr. Hayden always read so quickly, skimming through pages as if he absorbed everything at once. He never seemed to revisit the same book." Stephanie thought about it and told her own experience.

"You mean he was just pretending?" Anna frowned, looking slightly displeased.

"I'm not sure. I asked him if he could really retain anything reading like that. But he just smiled and said he only needed to read something once. He claimed that as long as he understood the content, the number of times didn't matter," Stephanie replied.

"What?" Anna was stunned, a flicker of disbelief crossing her face. Could he remember everything after just one read? That had to be an exaggeration.

"I didn't believe it either, so I grabbed a book he'd never touched, flipped to a random page, and asked him to read it. To my surprise, Mr. Hayden recited it back to me without missing a word! I thought at the time he'd planned it all to impress me," Stephanie said with a chuckle.

Stephanie had been working for the Sterling family for many years, and if there was anyone she could have a decent conversation with, it was Hayden. She looked at him almost like he was her grandson.

"He must've prepared in advance, memorized it beforehand. Show me which book it was!" Anna immediately understood Hayden's plan, and a hint of disdain appeared in her heart.
