Reborn From Ashes novel Chapter 75

"How about this—I'll give you a million dollars as compensation. Don't make a fuss and just leave quietly," Travis spoke in a cold and reprimanding tone as his brow furrowed.

"What! You're trying to buy the spot with money now? What exactly are you up to?" James sharpened his eyes when he realized what was happening—this was hush money.

He stared down Travis and everyone in the room with a piercing gaze.

However, the Sterling family members remained haughty, their faces indifferent, as if this was exactly what they deserved.

At this moment, Hayden's expression turned equally grim. He felt the blood pulsing at his temples whilst his anger rose.

He had genuinely wanted to go to Brighton University and had refused the guaranteed spot because he wanted to pursue his dreams. But that didn't mean he would just let it be taken away—especially not given to Morgan, his enemy.

Why should something he earned through hard work be handed over to someone he despised?

"If that's how it will be, I've changed my mind. I'm taking the spot," Hayden declared icily.

"What!" Everyone was shocked, and they turned their attention to Hayden.

"Good for you, son. It's yours, and you can choose any university you want!" James said with relief, giving Hayden a supportive pat on the shoulder.

Serena felt the same sense of satisfaction, and her excitement was evident. They had always been honest people, so they had once allowed Hayden to return to the Sterling family.

But the Sterlings hadn't treated him well, which forced him to return to the Caldwell family. Now, they wanted to steal something that rightfully belonged to Hayden again.

Why? Just because they thought the Caldwells were easy to push around?

"What's going on here? I already said that the spot is going to him. Didn't you hear me?" Travis snapped, growing impatient. "Alright, how about this—two million dollars. Take the money and leave quietly, or you can retake the SAT next year. The school will always welcome you back. How about that?"

"No need. The spot isn't going to him," Hayden said firmly with his head held high—his eyes were cold and unyielding.
