After a scare like that, Greta's health took a nosedive again. Back at the hospital, she came down with a fever, but her medical bills were way overdue. After nagging her about the payments, the doctors were definitely not as friendly as before.

Feeling fragile and overwhelmed, Greta cried her heart out in the hospital. With nowhere else to turn, she sent a desperate message to Nathalie. [I accept your bet.]

When Nathalie saw the message, a confident smile spread across her stunning face. "Cameron, Greta, your time is almost up."

Cameron had just wrapped up filming the third episode of his show when he got the call from the hospital. The doctor told him Greta was in critical condition, and his tone was anything but gentle. "Mr. Dawson, your wife's medical bills have been overdue for too long. You're not hurting for cash, so please pay up so we can keep treating her."

Cameron had never been on the receiving end of such a lecture. The doctor's words made his face flush with embarrassment. "Sorry, I've been swamped with work and forgot," he mumbled, sounding worn out.

The doctor didn't let up. "Mr. Dawson, I know you're busy, but you're responsible for her care. She's been emotionally unstable and even sneaked out, which has messed with her recovery. We need the family to take this seriously. Don't blame us if things go south."

Feeling drained, Cameron rushed to the hospital. He hadn't seen Greta in nearly three weeks, and her appearance shocked him. She looked like a shadow of her former self, so thin and frail, with sunken eyes and hollow cheeks. Her skin looked rough and sallow, making her appear much older.

Cameron stood there, stunned, his mind blank. He couldn't tell if he felt more pity or a touch of revulsion.
