Greta felt a stabbing pain in her stomach that made her gasp for air. Curled up into a ball, she pleaded, "I didn't do anything. Please, don't hurt me."

The kidnappers had gone to great lengths to drag Greta to this desolate, rundown factory without getting the ransom they were after. They were now seething with anger. They took out their frustration on Greta, wanting to vent all their pent-up rage.

Greta cried out in agony, her voice growing weaker until she finally passed out.

"Wow, she's really not tough, is she?"

"Let's not end up with a body on our hands. We better scram."

Nathalie awoke from the most restful sleep she’d ever had.

All her hate, all those bitter feelings from unrequited love, seemed to vanish in an instant. Nathan's deep and unwavering love had mended her broken heart. She finally understood her purpose: to live for those who cared for her, not for those who hurt her.

She felt a newfound sense of ease. But just as she was soaking in the morning's tranquility, an urgent knock shattered her peace. She walked to the door and opened it.

Two police officers stood there, looking serious. "Ms. Nathalie, we need you to come with us to the station," one of them said.

Nathalie was puzzled. "What's going on?"

The officer explained, "Someone's accused you of orchestrating a kidnapping. We need you to help us with our investigation."

Lizzy came rushing out, flustered. "Officer, you must be mistaken. She's been with me these past few days. There's no way she could be involved in a kidnapping!"

Nathalie gave Lizzy a reassuring look. "Lizzy, don't worry. If you've done nothing wrong, there's nothing to fear."

But Lizzy was still worried sick.
