Reborn From Oblivion (Nellie and Cameron) novel Chapter 432

Stepping out of Rowland Corporation, Cameron noticed the first snowflakes of the year drifting down from the sky. It was surprising, given how the weather hadn't turned that cold yet.

For reasons he couldn't quite put his finger on, a wave of sadness washed over him. Despite his many talents, he felt like a misfit with nowhere to truly shine.

The Dawson family kept him at arm's length because his father favored his half-brother. The Rowland family was just as wary, fearing he might challenge Benjamin for his spot.

He'd understood these dynamics for a long time but felt like he had no choice but to walk this path.

With a sudden, bitter laugh, he gazed upward, thinking how tragic it was that he'd ended up like a parasite.

Gone were the days when he could strike out on his own.

He wandered the streets aimlessly, the snowflakes settling in his hair, turning it white. Eventually, he stumbled upon a bar he'd never been to before. After a brief moment of hesitation, he pushed open the door and stepped inside.

The warmth and lively chatter inside were a stark contrast to the chilly outside world.

A friendly bar owner approached him with a smile, "What can I get you, sir?"

It was then Cameron remembered he was out of a job, his salary still sitting at Rowland Inc., and his wallet nearly empty.

He asked for the cheapest vodka, "The spicier, the better."

The owner gave him a look of mild disappointment. Such fine clothes for someone who could only afford the cheapest drink.

"Take a seat anywhere, sir," the owner said, his initial enthusiasm waning as he moved on to other patrons.
