Reborn From Oblivion (Nellie and Cameron) novel Chapter 440

Marian's voice was icy as she said, "I'm from the Dawson family, and I'm here to take him back home."

Greta's eyes lit up, quickly calculating how Cameron's value would skyrocket once he returned to the Dawson fold. She was over the moon. Her demeanor shifted to one of warmth, "Please, have a seat. I'll call him right away and get him home as soon as possible."

With an air of aloofness, Marian stepped inside. As Greta dialed Cameron, Marian took a moment to survey the humble home, tears welling up in her eyes. "My dear Cameron," she sighed, "born with every advantage, yet here he is, living in such a modest place because of a poor choice in a partner."

Greta was taken aback. How could this servant from the Dawson family dare to insult her, the lady of the house?

Marian's disdain was clear, and Greta wasn't about to try to win her over. She sat silently to the side, tension hanging in the air as they awaited Cameron's return.

When Cameron finally stumbled in, smelling of alcohol, his eyes grew misty upon seeing Marian.

"Marian," he whispered.

Her frail fists lightly tapped his arm, feigning reproach, "Why haven't you come to see me? Do you want me to pass with an unsettled heart?"

Cameron's voice was thick with emotion, "I wanted to, but I couldn't go back there."

Marian seized the moment, "I've come today to take you back."
