Reborn From Oblivion (Nellie and Cameron) novel Chapter 480

"Grandpa, I've made up my mind—I want to divorce Greta," Cameron said, his voice a mix of bottled-up sadness and firm resolve.

Greta went completely pale, her eyes wide with shock. She never imagined Cameron would ever consider leaving her.

Her dream of being Mrs. Dawson had barely begun, and now it seemed like it was all about to shatter.

She pressed her ear against the door, eavesdropping on the conversation between Cameron and his grandfather.

Right now, all her hopes rested on the old man, praying he'd take her side. She was convinced she’d won him over in the past, enough so that he'd even given her a lavish gift when she joined the Dawson family.

Sure enough, the grandfather immediately shot down Cameron's request: "Absolutely not."

Greta let out a breath she didn’t realize she was holding, feeling a wave of relief.

But Cameron was done with his marriage to Greta; his resolve to divorce was rock-solid. "Grandpa, my marriage with Greta is just for show."

"What were you thinking back then?" Will snapped, frustration evident in his voice. "No matter her faults, she was the one you chose."

Cameron's voice wavered, thick with tears: "I regret it, Grandpa. I really do."

After a long pause, Will sighed deeply.

"Weren't you head over heels for her once? I remember how you first described her to me. You said she might not be a beauty queen, came from a humble background, and wasn't the healthiest. But her grit, her optimism, her lively spirit drew you in. You promised you'd love her forever, through thick and thin."
