Nathalie texted back, "Sure thing. See you there."
But as luck would have it, the weather had other plans. By evening, the sky unleashed a torrential downpour, complete with rumbling thunder and flashing lightning. The streets quickly turned into rivers, water reaching up to people's ankles and rising steadily.
Nathalie had already hit the road, heading to the Sunflower Club, and found herself stuck—unable to push forward or retreat. She shot a quick text to him: "Have you left yet?"
He stood at the Sunflower Club's entrance, staring at the sheets of rain. Slowly, he slid off his sunglasses, revealing a stunningly handsome face, though his eyes bore a deep loneliness and sadness.
His assistant sidled up to him. "Sir, you called for me?"
"Check if Ms. Nathalie's on her way. If she's not, we should reschedule."
The assistant took in the room, which had been prepped to perfection. Fresh sunflowers filled the vases, brightening every corner with their energy.
"But sir, isn't it a shame to waste all this effort?" the assistant began.
"Don't worry about it," he said, brushing it off coolly.
Just as the assistant reached for his phone to call Nathalie, he noticed a message from her.
"I'm on my way, but the rain's too heavy. I'm stuck. If you haven't headed out yet, don't. Let's find another time."
"Sir," the assistant said, showing him the message.
His eyes lit up with a sudden urgency. "Find her location and bring her back as fast as you can."
"On it," the assistant nodded.
...
The relentless rain made it hard for Nathalie to see the road. She was a newbie driver, still getting the hang of it, and could only inch along like a snail.
Out of nowhere, a massive vehicle came barreling toward her.
