Nathalie crumpled the note from the mysterious prisoner, her fingers trembling uncontrollably. This stranger, someone she had never even met, was incredibly bold. All she had ever wanted was to bring Nathan back. But could he really do it?

"Ashley?" Officer Ashburn's voice pulled her back to reality after calling her name a few times. Nathalie masked her shock and excitement well, responding calmly, "Officer Ashburn, I agree to meet him."

Sensitive by nature, Nathalie knew that Officer Ashburn wouldn't have gone through the trouble of delivering messages so many times without expecting something in return. "What do you need from me?"

Officer Ashburn was visibly thrilled. "Ashley, No. 13 has created some amazing inventions. If he could donate them, they would undoubtedly advance technology. But No. 13 is a recluse and doesn't care about fame, always refusing to share his work."

Nathalie furrowed her brow slightly. "Isn't that asking a bit much?"

Officer Ashburn replied, "We understand it's his livelihood. But we won't treat him unfairly. If he's willing to share his work, we'll apply for a sentence reduction based on his contributions."

Nathalie's eyes widened in surprise. "He doesn't want a sentence reduction?"

"Yes. He has family, but seems to have little affection for them."

Nathalie couldn't help but find No. 13 quite peculiar. "I'll do my best," she said.

Officer Ashburn was relieved. "We're counting on you."

Nathalie added, "Please arrange a meeting for us, Officer Ashburn."
