Nathalie came home and just flopped onto the couch, completely wiped out. Lincoln watched his daughter, feeling a tug at his heart. “Vivian, I’ve heard you’ve been pushing yourself to the limit with work lately. The team’s calling you a workaholic, and some even say you’re like the Iron Lady.”

Nathalie opened her eyes, determination burning brightly. “Dad, I’m aiming to become the richest person in New York as soon as I can.”

Lincoln tried to ease her mind, “Fame and fortune are just temporary, Vivian. Your health is what really matters.”

Nathalie replied, “I’m not after fame or fortune. I just want to bring Nathan back.”

Lincoln was stunned. So, all this hard work was for that doll?

Why did this doll mean so much to her?

He couldn’t wrap his head around why his daughter was so fixated on it.

Later that night, after Nathalie had gone to bed, Lincoln called Lizzy into his study. He couldn’t hold back his curiosity any longer. “Lizzy, how long have you been with Vivian?”

“Three years now.”

“Then you probably know the story between her and Nathan.”

Lizzy nodded sincerely.

Lincoln pressed on, “Why is my daughter so hung up on him? I keep thinking about it, and he’s just a doll. No matter how good-looking or gentle he is, it shouldn’t be enough for someone to be this obsessed. There are plenty of amazing guys out there…”

Lizzy’s voice was tinged with sadness as she spoke about her mistress, “Mr. Lincoln, if you’d met him, you wouldn’t be wondering.”
