Chapter 219 Take Responsibility 

For the next five minutes, Kate drove with Eric on speakerphone, listening to Miles rant non- stop. 

First, he asked why Kate hadn’t told him she was warm. He expressed his curiosity and 

admiration for Warm and dissected the recent online public opinion. Once he got started, there was no stopping him. 

Finally, with a hint of bitterness, he said, “Kate, you didn’t share such an important thing with me. I’m really disappointed.” 

Eric’s face darkened immediately. He scoffed, his voice cold, as he asked, “So you’re blaming Kate for this?” 

When Eric’s voice got that serious edge, Miles practically jumped up from the bed where he’d been lounging and griping about Kate, his face suddenly a picture of shock. “Whoa, Eric! Hey, I was messing around before, haha. How could I ever badmouth Muse?” 

Miles fumbled for the right words, lighting the mood with a clumsy joke. 

Overhearing Miles‘ frantic explanations, Kate felt mixed emotions as she nudged Eric, “Alright.” 

Feeling the shift, Eric’s icy facade melted slightly, and he gently said, “Hmm.” 

Miles let out a huge breath of relief. 

Man, he thought, that was a close call! 

“Anything else? If not, I’m going to hang up.” 

Eric shot Kate’s phone a frosty look, his tone dropping a few degrees. “Nope, not a ‘see kind of goodbye!”

Miles quickly ended the call immediately, mumbling while patting his chest, “Man, Eric’s scary vibe. Only Muse seems to get him to chill.”

She then turned her attention to the soup she’d been cooking, which was now ready. 

She served up two soup bowls and shared a casual lunch with Eric. 

The buzz around HN Studio finally seemed to calm down. 

Over on their website, they dropped a sneak peek at some new accessory lines they’ve been working on, which caught people’s attention. 

And with that, HN Studio’s rep in the design world was seriously getting better. 

Loads of designers lined up to join the team, and Kate was right there, conducting interviews and

Some of those pieces sold for crazy high prices, making these three hot topics everywhere. 

Maia Bowman, who used to lead the design team at Davison, ended up behind bars for slinging mud at Kate, acting out, and sneaking off with some top–secret information from Davison Group. Looks like she’s not getting out of there any time soon.
