Reborn, Reawakened, Rekindled novel Chapter 314

Sean's gaze turned deep as he looked in the direction I pointed at. When he saw Alicia, already slumped over the bar counter, his eyes instantly softened, filled with a mix of heartache and guilt.

He gave a gentle nod, preparing to go to Alicia. I stopped him again, "Hold up, Sean, do you recognize these two?"

I pointed at Bonnie and Louis.

Sean glanced at the two of them, his eyebrows furrowing slightly as he said, "Uh huh, two bad apples."

At his words, both Louis and Bonnie's faces changed, while Malinda looked confused. She turned to Sean, "What do you mean?"

Louis retook Malinda's hand, pulling her aside, "Let's talk privately."

Sean smirked coldly, "Drugging your own girlfriend just to break up with her, that's a new low."

"What?!" Malinda's face turned pale instantly; her eyes widened in shock, "What are you saying?"

Sean gave her a glance, not saying anything more before heading off to Alicia.

Seeing as Sean had already spilled the beans, there was no need to keep him any longer. Everyone's expressions were quite amusing, especially Bonnie's, who looked terribly awkward and was speechless.

Malinda visibly wobbled, her lips quivering. The news was just too much to take in.

Neil squinted slightly, his eyes fixed on Louis. After all, Louis was his old friend, and he had just brought him into Whitmore Co.'s head office.

For a man to do such a vile and sneaky thing, Neil must be feeling a mix of emotions.

"Bonnie, did you know about this?" Malinda didn't overlook Bonnie and turned to her in disbelief.

"I have no idea, I don't know anything!" Bonnie looked extremely nervous and even took a step back, hiding behind Neil, "Malinda, I swear I don't know anything."

How could Malinda completely trust Bonnie now, especially after what Sean had said about both of them being bad apples?

Neil shifted slightly, clearly not too thrilled about Bonnie hiding behind him.

He then glanced at me. How come it is him losing patience now?

Upon my gaze, Neil had no choice but to stand still, allowing Bonnie to use him as a shield.

"How could you not know?" I asked calmly, "Louis wanted to break up, and you wanted to use Malinda's scandal to lure others upstairs, right?"

Malinda's expression wasn't just shocked now, but a state of frenzy. She pointed at Bonnie, panting heavily, "Is that true? Is that really true?"

"No, Malinda, she's lying! We're best friends, how could I do that to you?" Bonnie quickly tried to explain, her eyes darting towards Neil.

Neil hadn't gotten involved from the beginning, only because Louis was his good friend, he couldn't help but care about this.

"You two were using me?" Malinda was already under immense stress recently, and she was on the brink of breakdown, "Louis, how could you do this, I loved you so much..."

Louis's face was extremely dark, but after everything had happened, he began to calm down, acting as if none of this was his business. As a bystander, even I felt a chill.

"No matter what you think, we've broken up." Louis's words were like rubbing salt in Malinda's wounds.

Without further explanation, he turned around and left.

Neil sighed, his voice flat, "Yeah, she's home. Could you check next door? I think I forgot to lock the door."

I was a bit confused. How could an adult like him forget to lock the door when he left in the morning?

The housemaid next door had been sent back to Sterling Estates by Neil, leaving the house unattended. Although the security here was good, there were many valuables in the villa. If they got lost, it would be troublesome.

I had no choice but to put my clothes back on and head next door to close the door.

The wind outside was a bit chilly, so I wrapped myself up in my clothes and went next door. Sure enough, even the front door was left wide open.

"What a scatterbrain," I muttered under my breath, proceeding further in to close the living room door as well.

The half-open living room door gave me the creeps. As I moved towards it, hoping to get it closed as quickly as possible, a hand suddenly shot out from the gap, gripping my wrist tightly.

I let out a terrified scream, feeling as if my soul was about to jump out of my body.

"Got scared that easily?" Neil's figure appeared before me, asking with a smirk.

"Neil, are you trying to scare me to death?" I shouted, still in shock and anger.

Neil just snorted, pulling me straight into the living room. He switched on the light and then asked grumpily, "Why were you pushing me towards Bonnie all night? What's up with that?"

He lounged on the sofa, legs casually crossed, looking a bit pissed off, "Are you trying to make me unhappy on purpose?"

I felt helpless, his imagination was really running wild.
