Reborn, Reawakened, Rekindled novel Chapter 368

"I've just arrived and am moving stuff in. I'll send you the address later," I glanced out the car window.

Movers were still scurrying around, but I figured they were about to wrap up soon.

"Okay, I'll rest up then; remember to send it to me," Stella bid me goodnight.

After hanging up, I looked up news about myself, and sure enough, articles about my infertility popped up. They were saying that Neil and I were supposed to reconcile, but my issue caused me to be dumped, and then Karina showed up, so I got ditched.

Seeing those exaggerated words, I found them somewhat funny, but deep down, I felt like they were spot on.

"Alright, Rena, we're almost done. Why don't you go rest in your room?" My mom said, peering in from the car window.

"Okay, I'll head in," I replied, about to climb out of the car, when suddenly I stopped. I took out my phone and blocked Neil and Russel from all contact methods. In that instant, it felt as if the world had become quieter. That was where I was going to be living from now on.

The small villa was nice, and the rooms had a slight European flair. After a shower, I was about to hit the hay when a call came in. It was Kitty.

Kitty disappeared a while ago, seemingly popping in and out of Neil's and my lives.

I never asked where she went because, back then, I was planning to give Neil another shot. We might reconcile, so why bother stirring up Kitty?

Seeing the caller ID, I eventually picked up.

"Irene, you and Neil aren't together anymore?" Kitty's voice was as lively as ever, filled with surprise.

"Mhm, we won't be together anymore. How about you? Haven't heard from you in a while," I asked.

"My dad's health isn't great; I got pissed, so I've been with him this whole time. Plus, I've been set up on blind dates. So annoying," Kitty sighed after finishing her sentence.

She used to not care about her dad. I didn't expect he'd still affect her.

"Take good care of your dad." I didn't know what else to say, so I could only remind her.

"Who's Karina?" Kitty's curiosity was insatiable. Instead of hanging up, she started questioning me, "Is she Neil's ex? But didn't she die a long time ago? Bonnie even got her heart transplanted; how come she's suddenly alive and even has a son?"

I couldn't answer those questions, so I could only reply, "I don't know."

"Alright, I'll be back in Rosemont tomorrow. How about we grab a meal?" Kitty proposed.

"I'm not there anymore. If I go back to Rosemont in the future, I'll treat you then." I felt a bit drowsy as we were chatting. My mood hadn't been great around that time. So I always felt tired and just wanted to sleep.

After noticing my demeanor, Kitty didn't insist; she merely told me she would find Neil because she never planned to give up on him.

Of course, I supported her. Her competition then wasn't me. It was Karina.
