Chapter 1239 Just His Imagination
Gilbert did not respond. He just stared at her sullenly.
Seeing his grave expression, the smile on Kisa’s face stiffened. “No… No way,” she said in astonishment.
There was no trace of the joy of being pregnant on her face. There was only disbelief and the look. of not knowing what to do. Gilbert lowered his eyes to mask his disappointment. ‘So, she really. doesn’t want to have my baby,’ he thought to himself. When he looked up at her again, there was an added touch of distantness in his eyes. He pushed Kisa off his body and faintly said, “Stop thinking too much. Your body is your own, and don’t you have any idea whether you are pregnant. or not?”
Kisa froze for a second before sitting down across from him. “You know, usually there are obvious signs of pregnancy, but I didn’t have any. Besides, I fell a few times before and I was fine. So, I’m sure I’m not pregnant, but…” Kisa looked at him across the table in puzzlement and said, “Then, why are you always so concerned about my belly?”
“You’re the one who always says that your belly hurts. If you didn’t say your belly hurts, do you think I would be concerned about it?” He sounded cold.
Kisa pursed her lips, feeling that there was some truth in what he said. It was true that he was only concerned about her belly every time she said her belly hurt. She glanced up at his stony face and asked in a whisper, “Is that bump on your forehead okay? How about I apply some ointment for you?”
“No need to.” Gilbert did not look at her. Instead, he just glanced at somewhere in the backyard, where he lost track of the person he was following just now. When he looked at the spot now, there was already no trace of her. It seemed as though it was just his imagination.
Kisa followed his line of sight. “The back of the person at the party earlier looked like Sara’s. I guess you saw it too, right? Otherwise, you wouldn’t have been so eager to go after her.”
