Chapter 1246 Wake-up Call
“Will you also be staying at my place, Mr. Kooper?”
Gilbert immediately embraced Kisa into his arms. He chuckled, “Naturally. Wherever my wife is, that’s where I’ll be.”
“Alright, then!” Mr. Mullen Sr. caressed the dragon’s head on his walking stick. Then, he laughed casually, “My place is huge and has lots of room, so you two can stay as long as you like. Coincidentally, Mr. Tanner will also be staying for a few days. You can all keep each other company.”
Kisa turned to look at Adrien in reflex.
‘It seems like Adrien and Mr. Mullen Sr. truly share an extraordinary relationship,’ she thought.
As usual, Adrien met her gaze with a smile in his eyes. He looked gentle and amiable.
Kisa watched him. Strangely, she did not find him genuine.
‘I have a really bad impression of Adrien right now. I wonder if it’s because he’s with Carolyn,’ she thought.
Not only was the Mullen residence huge, but even their interior was incredibly lavish.
Since Gilbert and Kisa were husband and wife, the servants prepared a room for them on the third floor.
Meanwhile, Felicity and Davian left before the banquet ended.
Kisa stood by the window on the third floor. Many were still in the front yard, and Mr. Mullen Sr. was among the guests.
Gilbert sat on the sofa. After peering at her for a while, he asked, “Why are you trying so hard to stay over at the Mullen residence? What are you trying to do?”
Kisa subconsciously turned around when she suddenly heard his voice.
She felt a little conflicted. She was not sure if she should tell him that she was investigating David.
After all, her trust in this man was still insufficient, so she could not tell him about many of her thoughts.
Kisa gave it some thought and smiled at him. “Nothing. It’s just like you said, this villa is spectacular, so I wanted to stay over and get a feel of it.”
Gilbert gazed at her intensely. Moments later, his dark eyes gradually showed a hint of self- mockery.
He lowered his gaze and flicked the cigarette between his fingers.
