Reborn Through Fire (Kisa and Gilbert) novel Chapter 1410

Chapter 1410 Late Night Love

“What?” Gilbert turned to look at Kisa, pulling his hand away as if he hated her touch. Kisa took a deep breath, suppressed the pain in her heart, and said calmly, “I have something to tell you.”

“Is that so? Go ahead then.” The man’s tone was light. He walked to the window, opened it wide, and took out a box of cigarettes. He grabbed one of the cigarettes and lit it. Kisa noticed that Gilbert had been smoking more and more these days.

The man took a big puff and exhaled the smoke before impatiently saying, “I don’t have all day, you know. Time is ticking, and I have matters to attend to. So, talk.”

Kisa grabbed her blanket tightly and said, “I saw Sara in the Mullen family’s basement.”

Gilbert paused. He looked directly at Kisa, but her dull eyes showed no emotion. “What are you trying to imply?” he chuckled.

“I’m not implying anything. I’m just stating the facts.”

“Oh? What are your so-called facts then?” the man asked casually. Under the lingering smoke, his handsome face became gloomy and indifferent. Through his attitude, Kisa suspected that his reaction would be the same as Kelvin’s; he was not going to believe her.

Kisa panicked. She looked straight at Gilbert and said in a deep voice, “The fact is that Sara has been hiding in the restricted area of the Mullen family grounds for the past six years. She was also the one who tampered with my tea. She tried to hypnotize me so I would burn myself with a candle. She wanted me dead. She also wanted Kelvin to become a witness to the flames. After she found out that I faked being hypnotized, she bombed the basement in rage. Like I said, she wanted me dead. She did not hesitate to drag everyone in the Mullen family along with me. She is not as harmless and innocent as you imagine her to be!”

Kisa finished everything in one breath and stared at the man’s face to see his reaction. However, he just smoked in silence and did not say anything.

After a long time, he stood up straight and said, “I. Don’t. Believe. A. Single. Word. You. Said.”

A gush of tears began to flow from Kisa’s eyes.
