"Enough!" Gilbert cut her off coldly, turning to Kelvin. "Check out Thomas' injury first."

Kelvin scowled. "Are you kidding me? Not only are you not kicking her out, but now you want me to treat an enemy's injury? You-"

"As soon as his injury heals, they are out of here," Gilbert snapped before heading inside.

Kelvin shot Kisa a hateful look. "Mrs. Kooper Sr. is his top priority. You better not be pulling a fast one on him this time."

Kisa bit her lip, feeling a sharp pain in her chest. She said nothing and just helped Thomas stumble inside. As she settled him in, a woman suddenly came in, carrying groceries and medicine in her hands.

"Gilbert, I'm back," she called out sweetly, her voice intimate and natural.
