Astrid’s POV
“All the bags are packed already, Miss Astrid. Are you ready to leave?” Our Pack Omega spoke up, interrupting my conversation with Nova.
I turned to face him with a small smile. “We should leave. The Silvermoon Pack’s Alpha and Luna must have left already. We shouldn’t delay any longer,” I answered him.
He nodded his head and went to the driver's seat to start the car.
I thought I would be traveling with Killian and Giselle, but Alpha Theron made some extra arrangements. He personally took care of my travel plan, making sure that I would be both safe and comfortable in my journey.
I felt a wave of relief wash over me at the thought of not being trapped in a small space with Killian and his family for the whole ride. I’m sure it would be both uncomfortable and awkward for all of us. At least I wouldn’t have to face them yet until I arrived.
“Nova, I got to leave. Take care of Drystan for me, will you?” I asked her with a small smile.
Nova smiled back, her eyes warm with assurance. “Don’t worry. Just focus on your mission, Astrid. You don’t have to worry about us as long as I’m here.”
“Thanks, Nova, I really appreciate it,” I replied, feeling a sense of comfort in her words.
“Even if you didn’t say it, I would still take care of everyone,” she assured me. “You should go now. The driver is already waiting for you,” Nova urged, pushing me away gently.
With one last smile, I turned and headed towards the car. Just as I was about to climb inside, I heard someone shouting my name again.
“Wait! Astrid!”
I stepped back to see who the person was. Turning to see who it was, I spotted Andros staring at me with a smile on his face. My heart lifted when I saw him.
“Andros!” I called out with a mixture of surprise and warmth filling me.
He jogged over with an earnest expression on his face. “I just wanted to wish you good luck on your mission. I know it’s a big step.”
I smiled upon hearing his words. I didn’t expect that he would come here to show me his support. “Thanks! That means a lot.”
While Asha treated me with hatred and hostility, Andros welcomed me with open arms and treated me the same way he treated his full-blooded sister.
Before, I had to be careful because I had no one else to rely on. Now, I have to be careful because there are people who care about me and wouldn’t want to see me get hurt.
“You must send us a message of your safe arrival to ease father’s worries,” he continued. “You had been separated from us for so many years, Astrid. Now that you are back, we had to let go of you again.” Andros's voice turned soft at the end, revealing raw emotion beneath.
“I will,” I answered with a promise, feeling a warmth spread through me. “I’ll try my best to send news back to the Pack more often.” My heart felt heavy, yet grateful for his words.
“Then, I’ll hold you to that promise,” Andros replied with a gentle smile.
With a final wave, I climbed into the car. Silence engulfed me during the entire ride, my thoughts swirling as I reflected on my conversations with Andros, Nova, and Alpha Theron. Each moment replayed in my mind, their words echoing with a mix of warmth and concern.
As the landscape blurred past the window, I couldn’t help but wonder about the future. Before I knew it, I had already arrived at the Silvermoon Pack. I had been so occupied by my thoughts that time had flown by quickly.
As the car came to a stop, I took a deep breath to compose myself. Stepping out of the car, I looked around, taking in the familiar place that I hadn’t seen for years, bringing back different kinds of memories.
I still remember when I rejected Killian and renounced my title as a Luna. I swore to myself that I would never come back here again, but fate had different plans, and I found myself stepping back to this place again.
