Chapter 199 Bleeding
Avery closed her eyes, her mind full of memories of being behind Lily since childhood.
Back then, she was so young and didn't understand why her mother was always unhappy. She always thought that her mother would be happy as long as she stayed a good girl.
Over the years, whenever she thought of her mother, she would excuse Lily, thinking that her mother only left because she didn't love her father.
She thought that there must be a good reason for her mother to leave her.
Her mother remained gentle and kind in her memories. Avery thought her mother would miss her deeply, just like she missed her mother.
Now it didn't seem to be the case.
Avery took a deep breath, swallowing another surge of blood in her throat.
When she opened her eyes, her gaze was clear, and she spoke in a stressed tone, "Mrs. White, from now on, our relationship is over. You can consider me as never being your daughter, and I will consider you as never being my mother."
Lily smacked Avery across the face.
"Avery, do you know what you are saying? You are such an ungrateful daughter. How did I raise you?"
Lily clutched her chest, glaring at Avery. "How did you become like this?"
Ben hurried over to support Lily. Lily was his beloved woman, and he naturally stood by her side.
"Avy, your mother did all this for your own good. Don't you know about her heart problem? How could you make her so angry? Come and apologize to her."
Normally, Layla would enjoy the spectacle, but with Avery present, how could she miss the opportunity to disgust her?
She held Lily and accused Avery, "Miss Adams, I know you hate me because you think that I stole Jacob away, but you shouldn't make your mother so upset. Mom, are you okay? Butler, bring a glass of water."
