Chapter 109
When Julia saw Harry walk into the private room, she couldn’t believe he had actually come. Coincidentally, Otis was sitting next to her, pouring coffee for her.
Just a moment ago, Otis and Julia were chatting and laughing, but now Julia’s smile froze as Harry entered. Valerie, however, acted as if nothing had happened and quickly invited Harry to sit on the other side of Julia.
Otis and Harry sat on either side of Julia, and Julia was sandwiched in the middle. Valerie even winked at Julia, who couldn’t understand why she agreed to play along with Valerie’s silly game. What did it matter who Harry valued more between her and Aryal
After the meal, Julia felt sweaty despite the air conditioning in the private room was on. She couldn’t help but wipe the sweat off her forehead with a tissue. Harry helped her with the dishes piled up like a mountain in her bowl, causing her to lose her appetite.
“You don’t like it?” Harry asked in a deep voice.
Harry used the most indifferent tone to ask the gentle question, leaving Julia puzzled by his stoic expression. She looked at him, realizing he didn’t know she disliked eggplants and cilantro. That was why she hadn’t touched her food.
But then, Otis softly spoke up. Julia doesn’t like eggplants and cilantro.
Julia’s expression changed instantly. The temperature seemed to drop a few degrees in the private room, chilling her more than the air conditioning. Harry stared at her, seemingly asking if it was true.
Julia’s mouth twitched, thinking how she should respond. Feeling lost, she decided to remain silent, resolving never to attend such dinners again. She blamed Valerie for suggesting it. It wasn’t about testing Harry. It was about testing her own adaptability.
Seeing that Julia did not answer, Harry’s expression changed slightly. He already had an answer in his heart.
On the way from the corner of his eye, noticing her lack of expression and silence, so he remained silent too.
lia stayed silent, and Harry, who was driving, didn’t say a word either. He occasionally glanced at Julia
Suddenly, a notification sound broke the silence. Julia rummaged through her bag for her phone, while Harry said. “Your phone is in your hand.”
Julia awkwardly chuckled twice and opened WhatsApp to find a message from Valerie, who was trying to find out the
situation.
Valerie: [Didn’t Harry ask why you and Otis were eating together again?]
Julia replied cautiously, afraid of Harry seeing. [No, he acted normal. Didn’t show any signs, didn’t ask me, or mention tonight’s events.]
Valerie: [Why?]
Looking at the question mark from Valerie, Julia also wanted to ask why. Why did she go along with Valerie’s plan? Why did she try to test Harry’s attitude? Why complicate their relationship? Just being a good wife should be enough. After all, they might divorce at any time.
Julia: (How would I know? I can’t just ask Harry]
Valerie: True. Keep it up for now. It seems this method doesn’t work on Harry. Next time, I’ll come up with a new plan.] Valerie sent a smiling emoji. [Let’s try something else.
Julia hurriedly replied: [Forget it, your ideas are bad. I’m not curious about his attitude anymore. Like you said, if Harry

really likes me, he wouldn’the indifferent now.)
If Harry had been indifferent all along, it could only mean one thing. He really didn’t like her. If that was the case, why bother testing his thoughts further? Did she need Harry to show his attitude honestly before she would believe it?
This situation was fine, Many things were left unsaid, avoiding awkwardness,
Harry asked again, “Who are you chatting with so happily?”
Julia was slightly annoyed. “What are you trying to say? Your words are strange. Otis and I were chatting happily because we were discussing work matters,”
Julia pondered Harry’s words and vaguely sensed a hint of jealousy. She said, “Otis is a nice person. He often helps me at work, and besides, he’s good–looking. Who doesn’t like to be friends with handsome guys?”
Harry asked unhappily. “Is that so? Is Otis so perfect in your eyes?
